Antwerpian Treasure Trail

>> I know it must seem like I'm some kind of travelling nomad with no proper home but I've found myself booked up with travelling for the next two months.  Having come off fashion month a little worse for wear and still trying to make-up for sleep, I've undertaken a special bloggers weekend trip to Antwerp and I'm now in one of my favourite cities in Europe, once again.  The number of times I've actually posted about Antwerpian shopping is actually second only to London which is extraordinary considering the size of the city.  Still, I'm bound to find SOMETHING ELSE to add to the Antwerp post quota seeing as all of us bloggers (The Cherry Blossom Girl, Le Mechante, Miss Glitzy, Fad Tony, Renee Sturme, This Chick's Got Style and err… Style Salvage…aka the boyf… how very convenient) are going to be put into teams, embarking on a treasure hunt, exploring Antwerp's shops and collecting some goodies.

I'm not a huge fan of organised fun but I also happen to be compulsively competitive (you do NOT want to be playing me at Monopoly) so with substantial cash prizes up for grabs at the end of the trail, I'm kind of perversely looking forward to it.  I got top marks for orienteering at school goddamnit!

They've provided us with a shopping 'first aid kit' because of course, you NEED to comb your fringe, apply some lip balm and check your teeth for food between every shop… like DUH!

I leave you with this um…savoury image… here's a simile and a half… like the range of sauces that Belgians have at disposal for their fries, the plethora of shops in Antwerp is just as wideranging…*nudge nudge wink wink*…

  1. the Antwerp Shopping Scavenger Hunt seems very interesting…i should do this in San Francisco for fun..haha

  2. Oh I can’t wait to see what you come up with! Antwerp kinda bores me as of late yet I’d love to go there again, just as a change of revenue :D. Though I’m hoping Antwerp isn’t boring to me because I have no great amounts of money to spend on clothes, sigh.

  3. Those sauces have made me feel a little sick!
Have a lovely time & WIN STUFF! I, too, am ridiculously competitive. It’s an embarrassment!

  5. go to Mieke Willems shop! it’s so cute, and pretty new too – on Aalmoezenierstraat, just a bit further than the second-hand designer shop Labels Inc (you know that one, right?)
    have fun!

  6. French fries always delete the workouts I do. I may end up going out for more due to this post. I get so excited when you do food posts, just ignore me.

  7. I live in Antwerp and I love living here. My tip: for some very cool and not very expensive shoes, go to Sacha (there are several in Antwerp, but the best is at Lombardenvest. Oh and definately don’t miss the Delvaux exhibition at the fashion museum!

  8. Oh my. Very very jealous – Antwerp is one of the best places in the world for shopping. Love that no-one looks down at you for wearing all black and the scariness of the Yohji store and the really lovely shop assistants in ann demeulemeester… plus there was a great exhibition on at the photography museum when i was there a few weeks ago.
Aparently the time to be in antwerp is sample sale time, but i have no idea when that is.
    Really am very jealous.

  9. Hi,
