>> I've never really gotten into the whole Polyvore thang because basically I like botching up my own collages in Photshop.  Still, I was nonetheless intrigued when a reader called Tereza sent in some 'LOOKLET' collages to me that are inspired by my style… love the outfits… think they surpass my style actually (still very much need that Peter Jensen cardigan…).  Had a little looksy on Looklet and the selection of models, settings and range of labels makes the looks a little bit different from the ones on Polyvore.  Me thinks Looklet is Scandinavian-based given the number of Scandi brands.  Apparently the labels are chosen by designers/stylists…. and a wee browse threw up some surprising ones.  Barbara Munsel for instance who is a very very small indie designer who I wrote about a while ago.  You too can play paper dolls with her sheer hand-printed leggings.  My random pair of Forever21 pink/white brogues are also there for some reason too.

A quick testing testing and I'm admittedly a bit hooked if only just to see what range of labels they have but I must resist…. already I'm cutting into valuable shitty Photoshopping time…

  1. oooh these are indeed lovely! but… i don’t think they surpass your style. not that they are bad, they’re great, but i imagine you in more layers. i’m just sayin.
    what a great homage though!

  2. Ah I love looklet! It gets really addictive though. Before it went properly online the selection of clothes/shoes etc was very limited – it’s much better now. They have competitions as well where you create an outfit including a specific garment and if you win you win that garment.

  3. Yes, it is a Scandivian based site. Caroline from “Fashion Squad” used to belong to the team some months ago…

  4. wwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhyy did you have to indroduce this to me now!!!!??? if i had no university commitments right now, i swear this is all i’d be doing for days haha

  5. Okay that’s just awesome. Polyvore looks like a tool for idiots now XD. Plus I need that last vest argh.

  6. Fab fun – you need to get your hands on a complete look and wear it for real or maybe not! Definitely streets ahead of polyvore.

  7. The second one totally reminds me of you. What a great compliment, to have inspired people to copy your style of dressing. I’m not so sure about the first one though, my daughters used to dress like that when they were 4.

  8. Wow, you have creative fans. 😀 Must feel great to have a style solely your own that people actually pay homage to it.

  9. i’m pretty sure the site was originally set up in sweden by some bloggers etc, and if i remember rightly, carolina engman of fashion squad was one of those people, but gave it up.
