Polish illustrator, Przemek Sobocki has come up with another beautiful designer homage on Hintmag, (last time, it was Undercover S/S06) and this time its Marc Jacobs A/W06 collection. I love the background of photo collages of Sobocki’s mother and and friends, both new and old. The shadow creeping up over the Marc Jacobs-clad girl according to Sobocki is about:
"In this way, the story is also about memories, when all of a sudden something reminds you of somebody from the past and you lose contact with the present for what seems like hours."
Sobocki has picked some choice pieces from the Marc Jacobs collection. I wasn’t so hot on the leopard dress on the catwalk but suddenly I feel like hunting around for some tasteful leopard print and paring them with grey cashmere socks. Weird how illustrations inspire me more than a photo of the item in stark reality. Pzemek Sobocki finally has a website now so I can now droll over his portfolio as he has uploaded most of it.
