As sale season is slowly approaching, I have yet to devise a strategy for all the stores but I can start to peek at the online stuff to better equip myself when those net sales start happening (earlier than physical stores I think!). Until recently, the famed South Molton Street boutique Browns had a dodgy website that had scant images and did not reveal anything about the breadth of labels that Browns and it’s funkier counterpart Browns Focus stocks. Well, it has now been redesigned and is looking very swish. It’s online store is comparable to Net-A-Porter except not all stock is in yet.
How it differs from Net-A-Porter though is the choice of labels, which are really more leftfield and whilst, high profile labels are stocked, lesser-known ones are too. Joan Burstein, founder of Browns really does edit her pieces well, keeping everything about individuality and quality. So it has the usual Marni, Chloe, Balenciaga, Missoni etc. but then you also have alongside Sinha-Stancic, Richard Chai, Graeme Black and British heritage labels like Goat.
In the more cutting-edge Browns Focus section, you have labels like Charles Anastase, Lutz, Future Classics, Ann-Sofie Back, Erotokritos, and Ashish, focusing on hard to find labels. I think once their online store is fully stocked and raring to go, it will get to the level that NAP is on. This is definitely one to check regularly especially since it ships internationally! I love Browns Focus as a store and if they can transfer its essence online, hurrah for fashion lovers around the globe!
Some of my picks….
Josh Goot jersey cardigan – Another boyfriend cardi to keep an eye on // Le Mont St Michel cotton knitted top – Love the place St Michel, love this top even more // Undercover "Chuuut" T-shirt – Who needs a screaming woman on their t-shirt? Me! // Jessica Ogden Indian patchwork top – All the colours should be wrong together but are so right.
Richard Nicoll cotton stripe skirt – Belt included! I like all the directions of the stripes // Sinha-Stancic blue and white cloud print dress – The dress is floaty enough but add the cloud print and it’s float-tastic // Eley Kishimoto double-breasted trenchcoat – a rare staple from a usually quirky label and would definitely go with everything // Megan Park embroidered cotton scarf – A very pretty print and again a special staple.
Biba floral leather platform shoes – Yes, yes, I know I posted a whole rant about the reissue of Biba. But I do love these shoes….. and they aren’t widely available everywhere so if you’re desperately wanting them and have bags of money – ta-da! // Erotokritos blue striped wedge – Cute and comfy, something to see you through the summer.

if I tell you I saw 2 months ago those biba shoes in ebay at a very resonnable price, will you kill me? 😉
I am obsessed with those Biba shoes. They are so beautiful.
