Linda Schailon has well…Flow with her recycled straw rings which as a design isn't that impressive a feat, though for its 'eco' stance, I guess it's commendable for wanting to use up the world's supply of orange straws (I've sadly never come across and orange straw in person…). I'm more concerned about whether Schailon has ever looked at the boxes and boxes of straws surrounding her and goes flying into a manic straw rage where eventually, she's frothing at the mouth, gnawing at the straws until they go all crinkled and unbendable.
At EUR8-EUR12 a pop, I have to be honest, it's not really something I'd actively pay for given that…. well, it's a bendy straw but but but… and I promise there is a point besides pointing out this usage of straws…I'm kind of reminded of Topshop Unique's rubber fluro hair bands that haphazardly adorned the messy hair at the S/S 10 show, which they've recently been busy making hundreds and hundreds of them to send into stores in time for fashion week. They both have this sort of obnoxiously stupid quality about them and I mean that in the best way possible. I'm just thinking of my hands laden up with the rings, all in different colours, a bit ol' messy hair bun with these Topshop rubber bits sticking out (my locks are getting so weighty that my bun is literally a bird's nest ready for sticking random bits of crap in it), my vintage floral jumpsuit and maybe my cheesy R'n'B playlist (Fabolous, 112, Blaque yessss….) on the go. Definitely needs to be experienced for at least a few of the coming summer days… just need to find some spare bendy straws in a decent variety of colours.

Haha, hmmm I’m not sure about these rings. Even though they might be ecofriendly, I don’t think I’ll be buying them anytime soon! I wouldn’t mind trying to make them myself though!

Haha, I used to do that when I was younger, bend straws myself and ‘tie’ them around my finger for a ring. So original, or based on children’s birthday parties?
I like them, but 10 euros? An entire box/pack of straws is, let’s see, 10.. cents?
