>> Did I mention that COS got good? Or it has been good all along but the drag on of summer sales have prevented the goodness from coming forth and beaming into my eyes? The goodness is definitely dripping into COS bit by bit starting off with this squidgey delight of a sweater that I have taken to doubling up as a pillow on flights.
The full might of COS' A/W 11-12 collection will now be felt and the video above is a taster of a collection where modernist goes retro at COS HQ, as they look back to films like The Graduate and Funny Girl for preppy details to then fuse unexpectedly with Gattaca. What does that hodgepodge of cinematic references actually mean? A demure navy dress has a zip sliced waistline. Structure is given to padded sweaters which stand away from the body. A navy pencil skirt has pink side panels peeking out rounded off at the corners. Once again a knack for subtle but not boring colour palettes make COS pieces stand out on the rails. The sea of navy, grey and autumnal mustards/aubergines are broken up with bursts of pink and orange. It's not in COS' nature to do trend tick sheeting and thank god for that. In two store visits, I couldn't resist the lure of the 'This is New Season' label marked on the rail (yes, there is a time when the 50% tag loses value) and thus far have five pieces that have already been through the wash twice. I'm expecting a lot of mileage out of them beCOS I'm worth it. Sorry, couldnt resist it there…
I was in Cos the day before yesterday in Covent Garden and was floored by how gorgeous everything was. A bright yellow silky skirt and a structured navy jumper were the two things that stood out most to me. I was walking around creating outfits in my head that were totally simple and exactly the sort of thing I’d want to wear all the time. I love Cos especially because there prices still feel grounded and reasonable. Definitely one of my favourite shops.
p.s. seriously wishing I had that pillow jumper for all the recent flights I was on…
I adore COS; I recently visited it and I was almost overwhelmed by garments’ increddible designs, immaculate structure within each pieces as well as the somewhat reasonable pricing. I guess it is really easy to associate COS with minimalistic simplicity, as all accessibility; their clothes are all easily wearable, yet they give that plainess in their designs for you personally to experiment, and “add your own touch”(as cliche as that sounds…). Also, I was amazed by the film; being very simple apart from movement and great music, i think it showcased really well what the brand stands and repreasents. Okay, this turned out wayyy to long….

It’s definitely my cup of tea Suzie! I love simplistic clean cut outfits, and absolutely adore the black grey orange colour mix! I designed a long pearl necklace with grey cultured pearls and orange colour Carnelian and it’s gorgeous!

Oh, COS definitely is good! I regularly visit the shop here at Hamburg and it’s always a pleasure to go through a non-mainstream-esque world of clothing. I love their choices of colours and cuts. And the pricing is okay. I also like their accessories: I bought a necklace with a little silver frog about a year and a half ago – still love it!
