Rewind…

>> I'm not one to go back and review any japes that have happened to me in the past – might have something to do with the fact that I'm not on Facebook where there's plenty of image tagging, albums and wall posting.  Instead, I get little reminders of the months gone by, and specifically fashion weeks through streetstyle snaps that pop up every now and again like the 'Doh' moment that I posted the other week.  I'm loving the ones that have come from Street FSN especially because Nam, the photographer, seems to have fortunately snapped a particular expression on my face which wasn't a pose or a "Look here and SMILE please…stand like this… hands on hips" situation but a moment, in a similar vein to Tommy Ton's close-up 'moments', or Phil Oh for Vogue.com's fleeting weather-related "moments" (this shot of Vika being my fave).  In honesty, it's pret-a-porter-weariness here mixed with the feeling of "I'm rushing somewhere but I don't know where because I'm trying to remember every single appointment in my head..".  You can't be complaining or whining though when you have a backdrop of Place de Vendome behind you…

On a less reflective note, the pic does show a side-on view of this now sold-out ASOS White Crombie coat that I and a few others have been getting mucho wear out of.  I'm not one to be embarrassed over wearing the same coat as other people – it's ASOS, not Alaia – but I did notice that people had semi-ashamed expressions on their faces when we bumped into each other elbow patch to elbow patch.  Don't think they were really into my idea of being suede elbow patch buddies.  Seeing as I can't post about ASOS' beaming S/S 11 future (blub blub…), I'll concentrate on their latest additions to ASOS White which are floating my boat…

On a Suno x Loeffler Randall super high wedge note, I guess I shouldn't be shocked that the pre-order system that Opening Ceremony set up for the shoes is now gone, denoting that a full stack of orders have been taken which means I'll have a few other shoe souls to share with over the comfort factor of what LOOK like an impossibly tall hunk of wedge… we can come together, sit on my sofa bed, eat Marmite-flavoured crisps, look at our heightened feet and chuckle…

  1. i really don’t understand why people feel embarassed by showing up somewhere with a same piece. i mean, there are a lot of us in the world, those things are bound to happen… if it was a situation like mother of the bride and mother of the groom showing up with the same dress, ok, VERY embarassing, but apart from that (and a couple of other situations) yeah, it’s just normal. i’m with you on that one. 🙂
and ASOS white is killing me! since they have 20% off this week i’m surely buying some (more) stuff…
    besos from barcelona!

  2. I love that cpat. I bought it in blue. It’s Asos, a lot of people buy it so there’s not need to be embarrassed. A beautiful coat for everyone. I love your outfit, your dreamy shoes and your beautiful facial expression. <3

  3. I see a visor!
I actually like seeing people wearing the same thing as me. It’s fun to see how others interpreted an item.

  4. suzy…I wrote a blog about the embarassment of turning up in the same outfit, dress, coat etc. It shouldn’t be a problem, there are only so many things to buy, and it should be a comment on your shared good taste, but it is still seen as a major faux pas.
you look fab anyway – great shoes!

  5. I have the same Crombie coat, it’s lovely! I’ll take a pair of those shoes too. 🙂

  6. I adore those Suno x Loeffler Randall super high wedges, I saw someone at a fashion show wearing them in September and wanted them immediately and then saw them at the SUNO presentation. To die for.

  7. I would think people would feel great if they ended up wearing the same thing as you but hey maybe thats just me. I like to remind myself that great minds just think alike and move on from the fashion double take. anywho i love the shoes in the first pic and am definitely swooning over some the asos pieces

  8. I always find that I am the ONLY one wearing what I’m wearing, and that can be embarassing, too!
