I mentioned that I was on a bit of a scarf tangent lately and fortunately, this neatly coincides with the launch of label Lucy Jay, a British digital print scarf label that adds a slightly more graphic slant to the existing set of scarf new guns that I love… Trust Fun's warped fractals, Swash's delicate watercolour botanic-inspired designs, Forget Me Not's fairy characters and now Lucy Jay's colourful geometrics…
Like Liberty's immense scarf room, Lucy is very keen on promoting the idea of wearing the scarves in different ways which is reflected in her lookbook. I'm rubbish at asking for help in stores because I always want to keep to myself and not cause any fuss so I've never actually asked the Liberty Scarf Girls on their tricks and methods. Lucy's lookbook gives a few ideas as to what to do with her square and rectangular scarves…
As lovely as Lucy's scarf wearing options are, for some reason I haven't quite got the hang of the headscarf thing which probably steps over the boundaries into the hair and beauty department given that I have to grapple with my silly mane. Instead, when I took a gander at Lucy Jay's samples, I thought the best thing to do would be to give them a knotting base to hook onto… aka Fannie Schiavoni's cage chain dress. It's the sort of thing where you start threading, knotting and draping and then can't ever replicate again so if I had more time, I might have given you ten combinations where the scarves interloop and are knotted over twice thrice through the chains. Still, the effect is that of a disorderly jumble of fabrics that is possibly a lot more dishevelled than the looks that Lucy Jay proposes in her lookbook…
(With Cooperative Designs skirt, Romance was Born top, Patternity tights, Luella shoes)
Still… I kind of like it when you look at the patterns up close trying to figure out where stripe ends and eyeballs begin…
These three ladies here have given the thumbs up and who am I to go against them?
those tights and yellow booties.. perfection. love love love it!! can’t wait to see more! (and I think we may have to start our search for some print tights.

Hello I m call laurie i am 14 years old I am francais i like votes for blog and for everything blog of mode(fashion). I find tres brave d to assert his(her, its) style when he(it) is original and goes out of the prize(lot). J I n like very much the fashion but have not the means and the courage of m to buy vetements of luxury and to carry(wear) clothes and d to have a style which nobody n has and which(who) shows our personalité. I draw I meme vetements but has my age he(it) is almost impossible to show them has people or then he thinks that are kids’ drawings and do not set his(her, its) in the serieux, quite his(her, its) to say that I admire you thank you for having read this message. laurie

Oi Oi Bubbly!! That first picture of you is really funny! Love your chain dress – I’ve admired it before – so versatile. Love the knotted scarves, but I don’t think I could pull this off.

I really could need one of those scarfs!
Love it! Am about to order a loungelover all in 1 body suit and have been dreaming up ways to drape and layer stuff over it. I’ll have to give this a try!

You really need to figure out how to do the first look where the scarf is braided into the hair, this would be so great on you I!
Really love the scarves. I love how she presented them, but I love how you wore them, too!
Can anyone tell me or point me to a website that instructs on how to tie a head scarf like in picture 4? (Picture 1 being the one with the girl’s hair braided)
Would really appreicate it. Thanks!
