This isn't some sort of a mysterious time lapse rewind thing.  I am not in fact still trapped in my plastic bubble at Earls Court.  I am however still laden with many MANY graduates still to harp on about.  I'm not about to cease all coverage just because the actual 'week' (or three days actually…) is over.  I've had a few teary emails from graduates, expressing their fears over the future, questioning everything from their degree choice to the way their work was presented with varying levels of content.  I can't offer any sound advice other than a virtual sympathetic nod.  I will however do my best to put the 'feelers' out there for the grads that I'm into and in any case, a collection's lifespan shouldn't be restricted to a few days of frantic online activity when so much work has gone into it all…

Now, onto kicky knitters or knitty kickers… I feel like this is the territory of knit-a-licious blog Knit Kicks but I think she was out of town when all the graduate shows were going on so I'll very politely take over her spot for this post…

The Nottingham Trent show was loooong but the fruits of the show really shone when it came to its knitwear, an esteemed course at the school.  Somehow I figured out how to take a half-decent camera shot so that close-ups of the technically advanced knits were possible.  Here's a piccy piccy round-up of the knitwear grads that caught my eye… or the snap of my camera….

Emma Philpot – I love the lines of ruching created in the skirt here with volume accentuated at the hips…

Phoebe Thirlwall – I loved her work from the Rankin shoot and from the show , she's still one of my favourite knitwear grads working subtle coloured ribbing into art nouveau-esque patterns…

Samantha Brooke – Spinal cord and antomical-inspired shapes…

Heewon Park – The delicate knits were really pushed to the brink here as some were ultra ultra translucent…

Jo Bee – I love the frayed edges of the lurex strapless dress…

  7. Gosh, I am actually on this course! So it is really fantastic to see the graduates get the recognition they deserve. I’ve seen a lot of these pieces up close, and the amount of work that goes into each one is incredible.
It makes me so excited about my future.

  8. AMAZING I’m on this course (1st year) and we had to dress these clothes for NTU’s own fashion and it’s so surreal (and brilliant) seeing them on your blog. I hope you will like our graduate collection as much as you like this ones!!!

  9. I agree with you. Here we realize that our existence would need new strategy, new style. New factors can bring new really feel and new practical experience to us. Just like your weblog, it take me to some new state. It really is so fantastic that I can not leave.

  10. Cool that the winter clothes I really like that all the skirt is gorgeous! I wish my knitting could come out to something like that instead of the pile of scarves that seems to get higher and higher every winter.
