Pastelled Delight

>> I've still been wondering why no autumn/winter collections are shown here at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week (there is only the one fashion week a year that only shows S/S collections…) which is probably why I missed this wonderful A/W 10 collection by Karla Spetic which is going into stores now.  I was quite mesmerised by her Australian outback photographic prints at her S/S 10-11 collection yesterday, and then I stumbled onto this collection via new site Small Lust (lovely Kat of Style Lines is the editor…).  The collection "Dreamers" is definitely for girls with inner-princess tendencies who aren't overly prissy.  Sure, sorbet and candy colours dominate but the little twists and turns in the dresses as well as the short flare of the skirts and looseness of the knits will encourage said tendencies without having to don layers of tulle or other equivalent fits of girliness.  I love how the cardigans and draped dresses look like they are integrated, remaining as separates but looking like a complete composite dress.

A print is almost always introduced into Spetic's collections and this time round, it's an illustration where you clearly want to be that beady-eyed girl with a cat or at least wonder who she is… **EDIT** Carrie of WishWishWish very kindly pointed out that illustrator Caitlin Shearer is responsible for the enticing girl prints…

Blame it on the heat here and the glaring sun rays but I'm also quite taken with the thought of ACTUALLY wearing the suit on its own with perhaps some tit tape so that the midriff is bare as demonstrated here.  Next thing you know, I might be hitting the spray tan and wearing wonder bras.  Damn you prickly heat.  I'll come to my senses again and picture the suite with a neat buttoned up white shirt…

  5. Have you seen her bathing suits on her website? They look like picturesque child’s room wallpaper. I might have to get my hands on the bandeau two piece.
