Saints and Assassins

London…gah… that distant city that I desperately want to return to now after a few weeks of fashion nomad-travelling.  I still have a TON of things to recap, assess and swoon over from New York and especially London.  Might seem odd that out of the four cities, I've probably posted the least about my beloved London (actually Paris is up there too…) but I think there's a mathematical theory that proves that the more things/shows I'm seeing in a city, the less I'm able to post.  All will be rectified nonetheless.

Anyway, back to that fair city… so menswear designer J.W. Anderson oddly enough lives below my apartment and every now and again, we'll catch up on the gringey fire exit where we can bitch about Loft Lefts and also talk about the rather splendid things he's cooking up inside his studio (which I get insanely jealous about because he has twice the space I do… ).  Anyhow, I knew his womenswear was in the works seeing as buyers seem to have a demand for it and in essence a lot of his menswear pieces can also be transferred to womenswear (see those VOLUMINOUS blue trews from the S/S 10 collection in action).  Well here it is….J.W. Anderson's first accompanying womenswear pieces to the Saints and Assasins menswear collection.  I fear that what I'm about to type sounds like a wanky press release phrase but it's all I can think of… romance-laced punk with a slightly collegiate feel.  There we go…let's flush that out of our system before we get to the point and say that broken down, these pieces are pretty much good to go in most people's wardrobes and can be punked or romanced up or down any way you please.  I love the tartan blanket jacket in particular which is pretty much the exact replica of the one I used to snuggle up to watching late night crap Channel 5 TV back at my parent's house as well as the amount of beige/camel going on, a new colour love which I'll expand upon later.

I loved the amount of amnesia roses they used in the J.W. Anderson menswear show from McQueens (the London florist, NOT the designer)…

On a past season note… I also love these shots of the S/S 10 accessories which were styled on men in the show but of course, work equally well on women…

  2. Ok..I need the flowery boots to complete my existence. They are amazing! Loving the blog Miss Bubble xo

  3. I love the studded belt and tartan trousers. The belt around the ankle reminds me a little of the steampunk style.

  4. These photos made me really excited, I adore all of it, especially the tartan pieces and chunky knits! I used to wear tartan pants like this when I was around 11 years old so I have a soft spot for them but of course I still want to wear them now, even though I don’t have any at the moment. I now feel a little kick to start searching.

  6. Susie, do you know where can I buy his womenswear knits? I love! The styling is perfect too.

  7. I love the camel brown cardigan and his statement red heart frilled t-shirt as seen on menswear. Loved the incorporation of flowers intertwined onto his belted work man’s boots. Fantastic collection. Great thinking points.
Very jealous you get to chat to JW Anderson.
