Elastic Markings

Elastic marks on the bod as produced by Spanx pants, too-tight undies and heavily ruched waistbands are the unfortunate by product of wearing Bordelle's pieces if you aren't layering something underneath (the less than fleshy probably don't have this problem…)  So with regards to their S/S10 collection I'm decisively ignoring the scantily clad model, the provocative tush posing, the g-string and pantie hybrids and any notion that I might wear them as actual lingerie.

You, the reader are of course permitted to do what you will and perhaps a few boyfriends/husbands will get a Bordelle surprise.  No, I'm adamant about seeing these with nude mesh tees and dresses, (thanks American Apparel), very thin grey jersey separates and sheer sheer tights or stockings in all kinds of colours all acting as supportive undergarments cheering on the copious amounts of curve creating, elastic.  It's a tug of war between the fretting/doting mother and her scantily clad daughter.  Doting mother prevails for me though as I wouldn't want anyone to be singing Frank Ski's Baltimore classic behind my back (I'm referencing a silly joke that only Phil from Streetpeeper will get…).

Or to avoid the whole body marks issue altogether, Bordelle have also gone down the trompe l'oeil route, applying classic Bordelle shapes as prints onto simple tees and dresses…

  1. ha! g-string and pantie hybrids ๐Ÿ˜›
i’m a fan of vintagey indie label “the lake and stars” lingerie designs. their creations are romantic without being trashy, a rare thing in designer lingerie these days!

  2. wow i think the whole range is divine, but i think the t shirts are the safe option an wouldn’t scare someone when you step out of the door!

  3. The question is – comfortable t-shirt or sexy (less comfortable) underwear? I want both for dancing around the Christmas tree!!

  4. more bordelle haha!
I love bordelle, and usually you introduce new designers and brands to me but I was introduced to Bordelle by Vogue last month and have blogged about them already, blogging about something before susie bubble? never this just doesn’t happen! your post is alot better than mine tho!!!!

  5. I see what you mean about body marks…But the underwear in the first picture is soooo sublime! The trompe-l’oeil dress is actually really cool as well.
    xx

  6. i really want the printed shirt and the dress! but there is no effing way for me to get them here in canada! sigh… somethings you get, others you let go…
