Quite a few shops in Hong Kong operate a no-photo policy in their stores so sadly anything that I'm woo-ing and coo-ing about isn't going to make it on the blog unless I come home with a purchase. I didn't realise the Rise Commercial Mall on Granville Circuit in Tsim Tsai Tsui would be so stringent so these were snapped only to be halted by a big fat no-photo sign. I just had to snap these knock-offs that are quite literally seam for seam, strap for strap, shade for shade indentikit to the real thing (in design but NOT materials it must be said…) which probably isn't news for those always wandering HK malls but obviously I haven't been back in a good few years so I'm always astonished as to how scarily similar the designs filter down…
Christian Louboutins multi-strapped royal blue suede (or suedette in this case…) ankle boots and Alexander McQueens zipper shoe-boots snapped shoddily…
Most prevalent of them all…the Alexander Wang creeper boots…
Eww.
scary just how acurate copiers can be, really bad for creators everywere and granted if you can buy the originals perfect but if they are beyond budget, you love the style and you come across these at some mall ¬øcould one resist?
where is this shop? address please…..
O, that was so real, I thought is second hand shop….. no need the address now…. Hong Kong little shops got so so so much copies…. sigh…….~~
WOW
Those are pretty much exact copies!
Er… copies are just everywhere in HK shopping spots. Did you go 2 Island Beverly Center n Laforet in Causeway Bay?
i noticed this on ebay too but never seen shoes this identical to the originals. wow, would be tempting for sure..
wow they are exact! its scary how similar they are!!

those fake wang creepers are hilarious. horrible but hilarious 🙂
wow that’s one scary thought…. they look quite authentic 0.0 in korea the alex wang fakes are executed in the worst way, but if it costs less than 10% of the origial price, it’s not a big surprise… haven’t been to hk, but i’m guessing the imitations are of a different standard…
love,
h
Not only in Hong Kong… copies are everywhere in Seoul & China too.
Btw, your style & site are so unique & stylish.
I’m a Hongese, feel free to ask me anything (shops, foods…)about Hong Kong.
Welcome to Hong Kong =)
I’m a HongKonger too.
I wonder if you could speak cantonese.
Your style is so unique and fresh.
Enjoy your trip!!
I’m thinking if I will see you on the street while I’m wandering around. =D
Kitty: I do speak…poorly though!
Yes, of course I’m AWARE of copies but obviously coming from London where designs are supposedly ‘inspired’… which I guess is a weakened version of copying, it comes as a bit of a shock when I see straight-off-the-bat copies that are shamelessly exacting…
by the way susie, do you know any blogs in hk? i only follow ‘superwowomg’ and previously elysesewell but it would be nice to read some other ones! i guess hk-ers are too busy to blog!
LoL…

awesome boots!
You are so lucky to be able to go shopping in so many fabulous locations!
Jealous…
i have been to HK and other places in asia. there are different qualities in the knock-offs. i am sure you know this. i am a big fan of knock-offs. (uh, i will get whipped for that one.) if you want to whip me for it feel free on my post on knock-offs http://meredithwaterstraat.blogspot.com/2009/09/buy-knock-offs.html
but in short, if you don’t want people to knock you off, don’t sell items for more than your monthly mortgage.
as always susie….i love your blog, have fun shopping in HK!!!
i mean more than most peoples monthly mortgage. sorry.
hey u have came bakc to HK?!
ys…many shop hv the Alexander Wang creeper boots….
Ahh Susie, I ran into the no-photo policy when I was in HK last summer, too. I took some photos in the dressing room, though!
And ew, those knockoffs make me so upset.
wow! i’m going to hong kong next month and will def be taking a look! i rarely go to kowloon but this may be worth a visit.
too far for me 🙁 darn!
how much do you pay for the knock offs?
that would be tempting if you loved designer but just couldnt afford it!

hah your post is of such an ironic timing for me personally – i just moved back to hong kong from nyc and i totally feel ya about those knock-offs… sadly fashion here is still dominated by either luxury brands or copy cats, and hard to find something truly unique that stands in the middle. although i must say, god bless those dingy mini malls to keep shopping fun there.
mmmm very temptings!!but what about materials???are this kind of shoes you can just wear for dinner (from home to the car, from the car to the restaurant and back home with the shoes on your hand!!)
hihihihih
big kiss susie
I follow you!!
check my blog if you have time!! http://www.sourbansochic.blogspot.com

So sad, total rip-offs. There are lots of these imitation shoes selling in Asia. Of cos, they use faux leather aka PVCs. So 99.99% copies, right down to the labels and even the sole embossing. Louboutins, Chanels, MJs, Ferragamos, A. McQueen, YSLs, Bottegas, you name it. Some shops may not display them openly but sell them only to regulars. I hope these brands will shut down these counterfeit factories. Pretty disgusting.
Loving your Hong Kong coveage. I’m going there for New Year’s and this is getting me excited!
One of my favorite places to shop is Laforet, behind Sogo in Causeway Bay. I have maps/addresses to other HK favorites on m y site: http://www.lacarmina.com/blog/2008/01/hong-kong-gothic-lolita-stores-spider-dracula-baby-cupid/
Have fun!

Yea, many HK boutiques are like that.
copy copy and copy the runway pieces and then put out a big sign ” NO PHOTO ” to prevent others to copy theirs.
what a joke!
