I DID say posting would be sporadic as is email checking but when you're dealing with 1Mbps connection, this is the way it's gotta be.  Mid-rain and gusty winds, I was rushing around like a headless chicken last Friday on Sloane Street of all places trying to make a phonecall with a dying phone.  Phone dead with not much to do but hang around in the rain, I gandered over to Philosphy by Alberta Ferretti of all places and was stopped in my tracks by some unusual styling involving some dusky colours and sharp and precise knife/cube pleats.  Seeing as it's not one of those collections that is etched into the brain, I did take another gander at its 'soft-grunge' mix of dusky pinks, plums, faded green and grey knitted separates (arm warmers – remember the ones that came WITH your sleeveless polo top…?).  There are also sheer loose trousers galore reminding me of the YSL grey ones I had bought.  So in homage to that night of dying phones, rain and my nose pressed up to the window I delved in for some layered and dusky styling.  Curiously enough, I never retained the arm warmers that were so prevalent back in the day but fear not as Hong Kong has already provided me with some knitted past-elbow length glove options.

  1. these shops look the clothes were inspired by susie! I hate this phrase but ‘they are soooo you!’ – even pleats which you were only posting about the other day.
    I love the outfit.
    you are brilliant!
If I win the lottery I shall have to trek to Hong Kong to buy some jubblies!
Haven’t been particularly active in the blogging world recently, I have been so busy with art GCSE so I’m only managing about once everyother day so sorry for not commenting for a while but I’m still just as obsessed with you as ever and I’m now going to read all the posts I have missed, so this isn’t the last comment of mine you’ll be looking at today.
Get ready for more essay length commenting!

  2. as someone who doesn’t really do colours/patterns i always love checking out your blog to see how much fun you have with clothing — this is so inventive and you wear it so well!x

  3. Oh, sorry but that’s bad.

  4. What beautiful, hazy-day colors! Thanks for topping it with my hat! I still owe you a knitted item of your very own. πŸ™‚

  5. The more I read other style blogs, the more I appreciate how original you are! You’re a breath of fresh air among all the denim//lace//stud clones out there. Thanks for the inspiration!

  6. Ahhh, that’s what I do too. When it rains, I always seem to have a phone running dry of batteries, so I just walk into the nearest stores instead of waiting outside ;P I found out they sell Chanel shoes downtown now. ;]

  7. Lost my Blackberry to a rainy day, but that’s another story.
I love the shoes! Never knew they came in blue. Had the black w/ lucite, but ultimately sold them. Btw, do you like i.t (or I.T) in HK? I loved it for showcasing a lot of Asian designers. There’s one at the Festival Walk mall in Kowloon Tong. I thought that mall was pretty awesome. Then again malls are on another level in HK. There was a cool mall in Tsim Tsa Tsui (sp?) too, near the harbor and Star Ferry, something oceanic sounding?
