Fill that Gap

>> There's a BOTTLENECK (if you can imagine posts lining up like rings on a bottle, one after the other clogging up the neck…) of posts that extends all the way back to New York through to London Fashion Week – Paris Fashion Week – Antwerp weekend to post about and it's actually quite ridiculous that I'm panicking over posting about collections essentially won't be realistically relevant for a good few months yet.  Still… so says the speed of the internet that we should be posting at breakneck speed…

I'll do my best to comply but in the meantime, here's an outfit shot where I can also link in with something ACTUALLY of posting worth.  Haven't a clue what day I was wearing this outfit not that it matters when you're not posting real time… but the main thing is the Emilio de la Morena tiered cape from his A/W 09 collection, that is made up of a sort of elasticised stripey navy material that is ruched up at the back.  I'm hoping I'll find a shot of the back somewhere because that's where all of Emilio's sculpting takes place

When I dropped by the British Fashion Council showroom in Paris, Emilio also made me hanker after another technical feat of fabrication in the shape of this bomber jacket that is made of a sort of plasticised neoprene… need a more technical definition from him but texture-wise, it's the right combination of rubber-like softness and rigidity… once again, it's the back that excels…

Due to a model malfunction at the show, this ruffled look wasn't shown and was held back but it's part of that series of dresses that uses ruffled pleats to give the bod structure and a skeletal shape…

  1. I love that dress – sculptural but not overdone! And ugh, I know what you mean about the internet vs. S/S collections coming out in, well, F/W. I’m already sick of the winter looks and fall has barely started! It’s a heartbreaking cycle. I wish designers would take note and start designing for the season they show in.

  2. Deep breaths! I feel like it’s a famine or feast type situation with blogs, i have loads lined up to post or nothing at all! His pieces are absolute art. x

  7. Sorry, how do you expect me to focus on anything else ‘of import’ in that post when I am bewitched by those tights?? <3
PS. long time no read; maybe if you continued to post at less breakneck speed I could keep up 😉

  8. Oooooooh snap! The cape by Emilio de la Morena is aaaaaawesome! Not easy to wear but you’re pulling it off!

  9. the Emma Cooks in person. Thanks for sharing; I’ve been debating getting these for a wee while now.
And still loving those baroque-esque tights. Yum.
