Throw Some Pink Neon Shapes

>> I had a bit of a mini-panic attack on my last day of New York as it dawned on me that the Christopher Kane for Topshop collection was launching on the day I was flying back with no time in the day to pop into Topshop (New York or London or otherwise…).  I was just thinking about the first Christopher Kane for Topshop collection where the six eBay mongers rushed in and basically scooped everything up leaving a tumbleweed of neon lace behind.  Then I thought about the press preview for this collection which seemed like eons ago and remembered how GOOOOD it was and how I basically wanted one of everything.

Turns out of course, I over-fretted.  There's BAGS of stock and furthermore, by the end of London fashion week, I felt like I had seen practically every piece on show goers at least twice over with the croc t-shirt clearly winning the popularity stakes (um… lemme see…. I'd hazard that I saw at least fifty of them milling around Somerset House).  So when I finally did get to Topshop last week, nothing was lacking save for maybe the croc tee in size 8s and 10s.  At the press preview, they said that the neon stuff wasn't being produced and lo and behold here they are in yellow and pink bodies, leggings and lace dresses… naturally I opted for the pink body as I currently have a mild obsession with stabilising the pink with plenty of sheer navy… just need to find more of the sheer navy to keep the pink in check because looking down at it with all those mirrors and rivets can be headache inducing… even for me.

  1. Suuuuoooo pretty! I love how the sheeriness shows thru the eyelets…
Defo a bit of Fame the musical also peeking through lol
    Layering opportunities are also many!!
I like da lace bandage dresses best of da collection.
    xx

  2. It annoys me how available the collection been made if that makes sense makes my purchase a little less special. But I guess thats what you get for spending less money.
I was in NY when it launched so rushed to see if they had the croc dress left and of course they did so I scooped one up.
Back in the shiny north of england I haven’t seen anyone else wearing it yet….
but we shall see how long that lasts. hah

  3. pink and navy looks so great!! you could never get bored of this, what a great buy. i guess most just want a piece of the collection and the left over stuff seems less wearable, like the huuuge shoes! would it be totally uncharacteristic to admit i got one of the croc shirts? haha it’s winging it’s way over to me right now, or maybe it’s held up in some swedish post office somewhere… i wanted to at least touch some of the collection and the crocs were the ultimate, despite being quite horribly good!

  4. I’m so glad you are wearing the body over something.
I didn’t like them on the runways but
your outfit looks great the way you’re wearing it!

  5. Oh, great pick! The belt is awesome detail with it.
I feel strangely attracted to the neon yellow pieces of this collection.

  6. i wanted to buy it too but i didnt buy it because it was too expensive 🙁 but you look faboulus in it and when you dont want to wear it anymore you can give it to me 🙂

  7. This is funny, of course I bought the croc tee but I havn’t seen so many here in Stockholm and I plan on adding my own twist to the Kane design. I LOVE that you’re into pink and navy, i think it’s one of my favorite color combinations.
    It looks amazing on you.

  8. Looks amazing! Pink and navy really work! I would never have thought to try a body over pants, love how creative you are!
I wanted this in the dress version but there was no neon sent up to Manchester. I got the croc dress (just been playing around with it on my blog) and tee and the box clutch. Ive not see anyone else wearing it yet, but I have to say they dont feel as special as my monkey tee. I have to agree with Laura up there that even though I am first to winge about the lack of availability on most designer collabs, it does take a bit of the special away when they are so easily available – never happy LOL!

  9. Off topic, but I saw you last week at the Burberry aftershow party(We were too scared to come and say hi though)

  10. Now that is a look I’ve never seen on you before – trousers under dress under bodysuit all held together with a snap crotch. I thought you were wearing hip waders! Happy, happy outfit.
Inane comment of the day – Karlie Kloss (previous post) is so freaking tall they actually lie about her height. If she’s 5’11 the others are 5’5.

  11. wow this collection looks so similar to one Tutublu made like a year ago!
