You Need These Clothes in Your Life

So to Whitechapel I trekked for clothes by Jean Pierre Braganza that would complete my life.  And indeed, there were rails and rails of said clothes with prices topping ¬£200 for the superb leather jacket that has anti-moo restorative powers (you'll need to read the post to understand what any of that means…).  Skirts with the right amount of hippage and panels that will slim and enhance.  Skinny trews that are superbly cut that again enhance to good effect.  Jackets annd knitwear with thick YKK zippers that drape heavily.  Actually, heavy is a key word with the more embellished dresses.  Not embellished with sequins, metalware or beading but with leather and sculpted panels that sit in all the right places.

It was a pity I came around midday yesterday when it was sweltering and hadn't the inclination to try things on continually, something that is a requirement with a lot of Jean Pierre Braganza's clothes for the fit to be assessed.  Unlike jeans, which I'm loathe to try on in changing rooms blaring out awful music, I'd give a proper time of day to try on JPB's pieces for the chance that I might hap onto the staple pair of skinny trousers, the throw-on-over-everything knit or the perfect streamlined skirt.  If I was wiser, less flustered/hot and had heeded the words of my boyfriend's "Wardrobe-Building" mantra (alas he was outside on the phone to the doofus ppl at Nationwide trying to sort out a missing pin number…) I guess that's what I should have done.

Instead, I went for a souvenir of the prints he did for S/S 09 collection… a frippery, slippery dress that twists and slinks in unpredictable ways.  The wind machine if placed in the right direction would be my best friend here.  A degree out of place and I'd be revealing some pretty unsavoury flabby bits…

A piece that I was immediately drawn to was this heavyweight of a showpiece dress.  Made up of a soft leather and lace-up structured top, the skirt flares out into layers and layers of houndstooth and black chiffon and grommeted straps either side of the dress.  I presume they're to faciliate me to swing the dress about much like one of those finger holders in dresses with long trains.  It's got quite a bit of hefty weight to it when you're holding it but once it's all zipped up, the weight is shed and I'm just glad that there's straps and layers to play around with…

  3. *wipes drool off keyboard*. Both dresses are AMAZING. That 2nd one is absolutely perfect for fall! I wish I could have been there. If you don’t mind me asking, how much was it?

  4. After reading the title, I clicked right away to see what I need. My realization is: I need to look like you first, then acquire some clothing like that. First things first you know.

  5. Love the cock flashing in the last photo. In fact I’m in love with everything about the last outfit..
And er Susie..I don’t think it could be possible for you to possess ‘unsavoury flabby bits’

  6. Ah the ‘cock print’ made me smile. Loooove both purchases. The first one is so pretty and that second one is gorgeous. It looks quite heavy like you say but I do love the leather structure and how it falls. You look fantastic!!

  7. gorgeous lovely first item. Good eye for a print. I love it and even I could get a way with it.
The second looks fab on you but on moi someone would ask if I was pregnant!!

  8. super awesome find w/ the houndstooth dress. the shape and volume is perfect! i need those cobweb socks too…

  9. love both dresses, the print on the first one is beautiful!! and that hounds tooth one is a pretty sweet find! nice

  10. oyyy those tights are absolutely beautiful, They look like they are tattooed onto your legs. I also love this houndstooth dress you picked up. Its flattering and it fits you perfectly. I’d even like to see this combo with pants, I think it could work for “work”.

  11. That first dress is the type of thing if I saw it on a hanger, I’d probably pass it by – but combined with that beautiful outfit on a person, and it just looks so wonderful. And OOOOOOoooooooooooh that last dress. I love it. LOOOVE it. An odd pairing of tights – have you worn those tights in public before? Have you ever gotten strange or creepy comments about them?

  12. Make Do Style: I don’t mind looking preggers in some instances…. empire waistlines are tricky on me too…
Luxirare: I’m gonna try and wear them with pants too! Have some Jens Laugesen ones that are skinny enough…
Alexandra: Yup yup…wore them today and actually had someone openly laugh at me… I don’t mind though… people are free to get their chuckles from wherever…

  13. Great buys Susie, I love both outfits here. And the penis tights are amazing, where are they from?
    xx-LJ from SOS!

  14. these are both beautiful!! and i love the cheeky addition of the penis tights, just ever so slightly peeking out. your outfits are always so much fun!

  15. It was a good sale, although I lost my card on the way in so could only buy a couple of small things! I keep wondering if I call up they might still have the dress I wanted to buy. I managed to get a lovely pair of jenne o for JPB shoes for ¬£15, and they are kind of incredible for the price. Also picked up a massive baggy long black jersey dress with all kinds of weird details. I picked up the pink piece but it didn’t really work on me, but it looks great here. Wish i’d given it more of a chance. Saw a girl in there wearing high heels and PVC leggings like some JPG fantasy, dont know how she bore the heat at all.

  16. ooh you look prettier than ever! the jpb dress is an incredible shape, how funny that it is comfortable on, yet off you can feel the weight of all that fabric, bet it will look so good when you’re hurrying around london!

  17. You look divine! and I always love reading about ‘hot’ London weather, it makes me laugh everytime.

  18. oh my goodness where are those cock print tights from?? they’re hilarious!! (in a good way, of course) you never cease to amaze me, susie!!

  19. Love the first outfit. Looks more on summer dress. =D And look at those leggings on the second set of the photo. Gorgeous! =D

    How I wish I didn’t live down under…

  22. I don’t even know what to say…
    You look so incredubly cool!!
Stunning amazing looks, and adore your hairstyle:)

  23. I saw you on the street in Soho on the same day but was too scared to say hi!
I also went to the JPB sale later in the day and picked up an amazing strappy bra/waistcoat that is UNBELIEVABLE!
will post it on my blog when i get a chance!

  24. Love your style. I also find trendy wardrobe, fashionable shoes and bags sold at low prices in Kvoll Fashion. Plus, they offer free shipping to many countries.

  25. OMG SUSIE!! the second outfit is wowza. the return of your cobweb socks, i love them. also i just realised it s a peeny print tights, haha loves it.

  26. I am guessing since lots of people asked and you haven’t answered them that you don’t want to tell us where to find the cock socks (and I totally respect that) but i thought i’d ask one last time if you will divulge the secret on where to find tights like that. or if you could just say that you don’t want to tell us, which is cool too.
you’d be amazed the things that pop up on a “cock sock” google search… jeez!
anyway, love the outfits and the blog!
    thank you <3

  27. ^Ah sorry…. thought I already answered that question…. I actually dedicated a whole post to the cock socks when I first got them… they’re from Digitaria, on 60 Berwick Street, London…. I believe that’s the only place where you can find them as they’re by Lee Benjamin (used to work with Leigh Bowery) and his printed socks, tops and dresses (yup you can have the cock print on a dress too…) are exclusive to Digitaria….

  28. damn it dude.
any time i’m drawn in especially violently to a post here or on kingdom of style, it ends up being jpb. son of a b. the second one, particularly. evil.

  29. The cobweb knee-highs are brilliant! They’re calling out to me, haha. I love how you layered them with tights for added texture.
Thanks so much for linking my blog! <3

  30. hey can you please talk to me about those shoes? i’d be forever greatful.

  31. Susie, you look seriously beautiful in both of those pieces. And not just ’cause they happen to be pretty amazing. You put us all to shame 🙂

  32. I JUST WANT TO SAY ONE THING: If you want to find a pair of penis stockings of your very own, GOOD EFFIN’ LUCK trying to Google it!!!!!!
