The natural conclusion that I have come away with after Pam Hogg's shop opening last night is that I need to stop chomping on so much crackling, bacon bits, toast and sugary vitamin drinks if I'm to look good in a Pam Hogg catsuit. I don't yank up the ol' subject of weight that often because to be frank, it's mostly irrelevant and Now/Heat/Ok/Hello/Hey/Ho already pollute the world by banging on about weight in the most grotesque ways anyway. Still, the heavy dosage of lycra, spandex and shiny mc shine coupled with the fact that Anouk Lepere was looking excessively glorious/glowing in her bit of Hogg Couture all naturally leads to the conclusion above.
The store itself is very to the point; a whole plethora of Pam's catsuits and a few pieces of Pam Hogg souvenirs (mugs, tees…plates???) but the joy of the pop-up for a month is the chance to meet the woman herself in the store and she might gab about the days gone by and what other cunning catsuit plans she has up her tight lycra sleeves in the future.
I loved that in the basement of the shop, she projected a sweet bit of footage of Pam Hogg and co at
her original shop on Newburgh Street…
I also loved these contact sheet images of Pam and a model for her 1990 collection…
oh my god that looks so quirky it would have been so interesting!
I so wished I’d have been there last night. Pam made a catsuit especially for me for my charity mission for the GET TESTED! mission (for hep C). I love it…i’d kill to have it for keeps! http://twitter.com/account/profile_image/ShellyPreston?hreflang=en
oh goodness… i’m having a bit of an irrational catsuit love moment. they’d make anyone feel like superhero… if i say that i want the yellow one pam hogg is wearing only because it reminds me of bumblebee from transformers, does that make me an enormous geek??? (oh wait, i am one… oops!) ;-D
envious of your attendance at the opening lol. not sure i’ll get to the store 🙁 sob – exam term hatred setting in…
xxxc
Wow. Pam Hogg made these amazing Brigitte Bardot style dresses in the late 80s. They were off the shoulder, black, long-sleeved and very tight…
I longed for one of them!
Amazing.. Though I agree about the chomping, those suits wouldn’t flatter me at all. I’m admiring these as I galp down 2 chocolate chip muffins.
sigh.
xx-LJ from SOS!
Looks like a very fun opening. Clothes and the shop looks great!
Bike racing suits come to mind when I look at the spandex outfits. Really fun and kooky but I don’t think I could see myself wearing them.

Positively over the top!
Peaches Geldof in lyrca made me gag.
Madison: I didn’t stay long enough to be graced with the presence of Peaches…
What a lucky escape you had.
whoa, I’m not sure I could pull one of these off even if I weighed 98 lbs – I’m pretty sure this was made for someone with a figure like Barbie!
very cool though.
Can’t say I find catsuits appealing… though the first one does look like something Batman’s cousin would wear!
Pretentious vulgarity at its very best!!!
What an intense catsuit..
I saw a picture of Peaches Geldoff wearing one. It made me a bit sad. But to be fair, these are epic x
Ms. Hogg herself seems very Epic. How old is she, does anyone know?? We don’t really have her in the US.
The space ship look does nothing for me. What I want to know is who is doing her PR? They deserve an award. She has been everywhere!!
Ahem Ondo Lady, I think it’s Mandi Lennard doing her PR. Nuff said! Ah, I must go to this before it finishes. She’s fab!
freaking genius!
<3 it!!!!
