Petra’s Paper Tricks

In the months of 2009 with lots of lazy outfit posting, I've missed the boat with posting about Petra Storrs' wonderful work with paper that she has been doing for the likes of Sublime magazine (below) and for Paloma Faith (YouTube video below – another one that I demand you watch no matter how much you hate streamed video…).  Again old news to some but manages to slot very nicely into the paper garment trail that I've been on recently.  Like Fred Butler, Storrs is a prop/set/costume designer and art director – a jack of all sorts of magical fashion trades.  The garments she has made for Sublime magazine entitled "Optical Opulence", photographed by Rai Royal and styled by Justine Josephs is particularly stunning and makes me wonder where she sourced all those patterned paper types.  The image below mixed with a S/S 08 Steve J & Yoni P piece almost makes me want to throw myself into the reams of paper at Paperchase just to see what happens.

  1. I’ve got to admire anyone with the patience to construct something like this…out of PAPER. It truly blows my mind. Those models must’ve been scared of tripping and crushing the intricate creations. Eeep.
