Not to toot the ol' office horn or what not but even I was floored by the new April cover and shoot for Dazed & Confused – photographed by Josh Olins and styled by Nicola Formichetti featuring the ethereal Lakshmi in a bit of Dolce & Gabanna (ok, the circular sleeves have momentarily been sold on me…).  I'll have to check out the full list of credits but I'm sure there'll be a plethora of established and up and coming names for the mass of jewellery that has been used to embellish Lakshmi.  Despite the fact that, if I had on that amount of jewellery, my skin would combust into pus-filled welts and blotches, I still love the idea of excessiveness in accessories, feeling plenty of weight in metalwear; Haider Ackermann and Lanvin A/W 09 are both key to my current desire to be moving slowly, with a lot of metal hanging off of me.

  1. Oh fun, can’t wait to see the results- just hope you didn’t have to deal with that terrible Langley person!

  2. Wow! I often see editorials/covers I like. But this? This just topped the rest. I adore the “dripping in jewellery” accessorisation.
I’ve always been a fan of the excessive accessorisation. Makes life so much better!
    And the shots! The vibrancy…love!

  3. these are so inspiring! finally something i haven’t seen 8million times already, its the future in full color!

  4. Wow she looks absolutely amazing! It’s great to see her getting more into the spot light, she looks awesome in the Max Mara ads too.
As for the abundance of chains, I suddenly feel a strong urge to pile on absolutely every necklace and chain I own…

  5. It looks pretty good, though, does the formatting remind anybody else of The Face magazine from years back?

  6. WOW. Just….WOW. I love how they’ve played up the whole ‘dripping in jewellery’ thing, and Lakshmi, as always, looks fantastic (there was a gorgeous editorial in Vogie India this month by Prabuddha Dasgupta with her modelling the collections…now I have one more mag to buy).

  7. I’m pretty sure the jewellrey is mainly Arielle DePinto (www.arielledepinto.com) I’ve been a huge fan of her work for a while – beautifulbeautifulbeautiful.
