Diaphanous Light

Is it me or has the light in London been REALLY pretty?  That isn't a dozy question coming from my painkillered state of mind.  At least I don't think it is…  No, the light really has been a treat and it makes me itch to get walking hence why I've been out and about even though it kills the ankle the next morning.  Such is the draw of sunshine in London that I'm willing to grit my teeth for a few hours of joy…

Anyhow the light flooding into my greenhouse of an apartment has got me thinking about getting diaphanous again except my sheer items are still fairly limited in terms of colour palette and not nearly as structured as I'd like them to be.  Whites, navies and blacks in gauzey loose tees/dresses… some fabric purchases of coloured organza should remedy the dullness (have an especially odd DIY project I'd like to embark on fairly soon…).  The newest addition to the sheer family being this black t-shirt with embroidered circles bought from UpMarket yesterday for ¬£20.

The rest you've seen before except for perhaps the last ensemble which doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the picture below but more so in the one to the left – an outfit I wore in Paris where a black sheer tunic courtesy of Treasure Chest Vintage went over the Forever 21 grey jersey giant paillette dress.

I'm hoping there are more light filled apartment days to come seeing as the Diaphanous really has taken over the brain and I'll even ensure that I do the D word without having to expose my scarred and battered legs.

  4. The sunshine makes everyone feel better, we should get at least 15 minutes of it a day.
These double exposed photos are genius for displaying sheer fabrics, but you already knew that. I haven’t seen any better out of the fashion mags, great job!
D*mn that girl for pushing past you, I hope your ankle heals soon. xo

  5. The tweenage desire for Liberty Nikedunks in your sportswear post . . . isn’t there a pair right by your bare feet in the entry before that?!

  13. There’s something about the time of year when the sun is really low in the sky–but it’s still bright out–that’s just fantastic for photos. If only I wasn’t stuck in an office half that time.

  17. great pictures. Did you do them your self? really fits the mood of the clothing subject and the airy light. You pulled it all together quite nicely. (in the back of my head I, not infrequently, think of fashion shoot ideas of you)
