Why do I keep on harping on about Bang Bang in every question that people ask me about shopping in London? Because bona fide bar-gains like this one occurs every so often. I spied this Josh Goot layered-pastel dress from the S/S 08 collection for ¬£80 in the Berwick Street Bang Bang before Christmas and it literally took all of my self-restraint to stop myself from buying it because of all that Crimbo gift, generosity, thinking-about-others-and-not-myself stuff…
After a bit of research, it turns out that the dress is on sale at Browns for ¬£250, reduced from the original price of ¬£650 (definitely not worth THAT figure…). I physically slapped my forehead and said 'Double damn!' to myself in a slapstick manner for not snapping it up. However yesterday, I popped in again and there it was reduced further to ¬£65. I don't know who donated it and accepted a lower than low price for it to be sold in Bang Bang at the tenth of the retail price but I'm a happy bunny for it because pricing/lable aside, it's those colours that got me initially. You can take it apart so that it becomes a top and a dress but they're best worn together so that those layers of colours can ripple around the bod (and ripple it did today as it's quite windy…)…
very very very nice
holy moly, what a score… i love when things are unexpectantly marked down… and the dress looks lovely on you.
What luck and damn double luck! Looks mighty fine and so does the yellow London brick – for some reason I’m obsessed with it!
Not everybody could pull off this look but you have done a great job, looks superb on you!

Definitely great find! Besides, I really like the colour of your tights, it’s a perfect shade of grey, would you tell me where they’re from?
Cute!!! you always find the best things.
That’s a great score, Susie. It’s perfect on you!
There’s only one explanation here:
This dress WANTED to come home with YOU!
Oh it’s perfect! Lovely colours. I do love abit of Josh Goot.
Shopping fate!!! It is SO SUPER IT’S RIDICULOUS! Amazing find! I visited Bang Bang on Goodge street over the summer and I did find lots of designer bargains (Amazingly perfect flawless beautiful Alexander McQueen leather jacket: 400 pounds) but nothing I could afford. 🙁
P.S. I love the outfit you created around it, that neck ruff is so gorgeous.
Soo cute! The colours are fantastic, plus i love pale coloured tights but i can’t pull it off!

You look absolutely lovely!
So I just had a thought…. because I absolutely adore this dress…
This dress would look PERFECT with your Miu Miu’s, the gold in the shoes would complement the gold in the dress. I feel like it would also be perfect with one of those bubble necklaces you posted about not too long ago.
You’re so adorable!!
Emerald Dandy
So unexpected in winter with the pallatte.
But then again…when did you ever wear something I expected?!
Gorgeous!

What a great dress, the colours are so pretty!
Very nice choice of colours, subtle but sweet!
it looks really good on you! amazing you were able to buy something so cheap that was modeled on an actual runway. =D
how much does 65 pounds translate to in US dollars?
It was meant to be! How nice it is to see a splash of colour in the middle of winter.
Brilliant Josh Goot dress, what a fab find. Must get myself down to Bang Bang pronto. xx
Awesome, I especially love the color of the tights you picked. It’s just right.
Thanks for all the comments!
Yvonne: it’s about $110 now…
Emerald: I need those bubble necklaces to make that work… I’m not sure about the Miu Miu shoes as the black sort of throws things off a bit but I’ll certainly try!
KD: That jacket is now £200 me thinks!
Katherine: The tights are sort of grey/purple/mauve…an odd shade…they’re from Topshop.
Looks FAB on you!

Josh Goot is the man. He is from Australia but the Australian’s don’t appreciate his genius. So glad he is popular overseas. And the dress looks great on you.

absolutely GORGEOUS! I can’t wait to see what you do with it 🙂
Probably best to go on a bit less about Bang Bang (probably my favourite place for shopping in London)… There won’t be anything left for us people in the know to buy if you keep telling everyone how amazing it is! 🙂
