Fred Butler’s seven days of rainbow style got me wondering whether I had the capacity to do monochromatic style too. Sadly my shoe and outerwear collections don’t stretch into the colour realms that Fred’s do. In addition, my colours are slightly different to Fred’s ones…. a selection of seven colours that I will always be drawn to, hence why I have more items in those colours, though strictly speaking I don’t have favourite colours (thank god I’ve never been asked that silly question in interviews….). The North Sea winds might have battered my head and boxed my ears a bit but I’m making a conscious effort to make sure I don’t retreat into a blah sea of navy and grey now that I’ve dug out some of these ye olde frocks…

(Vintage navy texturised coat, John Richmond navy dress, Topshop feather skirt, Tabio blue tights, Topshop ribbed knee highs, Topshop Unique shoes)

(Vanessa Bruno jumper, vintage lace dress, Tabio tights, Rupert Sanderson shoes, Mango skirt worn as peplum)

(Vintage silk t-shirt, 3.1 Phillip Lim one shouldered dress, As Know as de Base wrap skirt worn as cape, Topshop tights, vintage shoes)

(Zara yellow dress, satin ruffled skirt worn over the shoulders, tartan tights, vintage strappy patent sandals)

(Stella McCartney for H&M blush trench, H&M silk top, blush pink shirt worn as skirt, Princess Tam Tam knee high socks, Forever 21 shoes)

(Vintage Lanvin wool jacket, tiered dress, Bebaroque fringed tights, Miu Miu shoes)

(Purple button up shirt, Proenza Schouler for Target dress, dip dyed purple footless tights, Topshop jacket, vintage lace skirt worn as scarf, vintage perspex wedges)
Wow what gorgeous outfits! I tend to wear more grey and black, good inspiration to wear a bit more colour ๐
gosh i just love all your tights! you’ve got one in every colour of the rainbow… what a great investment x) am amazed at the amazing number of clothes you have!
hi susie, how’d you do that effect on your purple stockings? i mean the lightest-darkest effect? thak you. ๐
I adore this post, the monochromatic way is far than boring and can be so creative indeed.
These are fabulous susie! What a fantastic range of colours. I particularly love the green and the bright pink outfits. The light pink is very pretty, too. Apart from black, I don’t think I’ve ever attempted a monochromatic style, but you’ve definitely convinced me to experiment a little!! xx
I love monochromatic looks, you look amazing!
those outfits are truly fantastic ! you have so much clothes, and you’re definitely inspiring !
love!
seriously one of my most favorite posts! the ensembles are killer..love the jade green vintage shoes and the Miu Miu platforms!
you did an excellent job of dressing pretty monochromatically. and its not typical colors either. i really love the yellow dress w the tartan tights! thats an unexpected combo!
love all of these style!! thanks for the link!
the PINKS are my favourite~~~!!!!! styling is impeccable as always ๐
Very inspirational! I’ve only ever tried full on black or full on shocking pink, but I must try other colours too, I love this look! And coโรncidentally my favourite colours are all included (esp. #2) – except the blush tone, makes me look like a ghost.
Brilliant! Reminding me how disappointingly few colourful pieces I have in my wardrobe.
wonderful outfits. i’m impressed.
Ever since seeing this Kingdom of Style post a while back …

The hot pink outfit is also my fave….
You’ve got a rainbow when you put those pictures together! Love the monochromatism.. The purple look is my fave (that leather jacket is amazing). And that vintage lanvin coat is beautiful..
I love the look of these. The second blue outfit with the lace dress is my favourite or the pink outfits.
love the pink shoes!!! ๐
Ohhhh I love these outfits! The plaid tights look great with the yellow outfit. And I think the first one is my favorite…I’ve really been into navy lately.
you have inspired me! now i want to try this for a week…
i really like the texture variety in the navy outfit.
Bloody love it Susie – you look fab in all of these. I cant even beginning to decide my fave look but I think it has to be the bright pink colour blocking. Amazing! For someone that can do head to toe black well, I think I may be a bit more daring and try out head to toe – another colour!
Wow, I looove this post. The patterns on the side looks really effective too.
Gotta say my favourite is the bright teal outfit and the purple one. Wow.
I love the yellow look. The purple is also lovely.
Wow you pulled this off so well! I’m surprised that you have so many different color tights and outfits to match them.
Susie love how you did the varying colour paths and nailed them all.super fun!
muah!
Marian
Beautiful monochromatic series. Why am I always wearing grey outfits?
As a devoted colour fan I adore this post. My two favourite outfits are the yellow tiered dress from Zara with tartan tights and the pink outfit – fantastic!! Would absolutely love it if you could check out my Blog?!
Kind Regards
Carol x
Great idea, the last purple picture is my favorite!
All of the outfits are fabulous. Wow. You have such an awesome wardrobe.
My favourite is the blush pink outfit. I’m so loving the Forever 21 shoes, Tam Tam knee high socks and Stella McCartney for H&M blush trench. Tis very creative how you used the shirt as a skirt, love it.
You have such a creative eye!
Adore the yellow, pink and purple look. Where was the pink heels from?
Amazing post, I can’t quite decide which colour I like best, hmm all pink or blue…
the yellow one was really refreshing and eye grabbing, Loved the slightly sickly tartan tights
also the dip dyed tights for the purple look ? did you buy them that way or DIY ?
You’re amazing. Truly. I love how you repurpose items.
omg!!!!! amazing colours:)))))))))
the purple is phenomenal!!
and i like the random things off to the side
Wow, I can’t decide which colour I like best! You look lovely in all of them.
I love them all!!!! I was very sad when I reached the end of this post, it was lovely!
Fred Butler’s amazing! I don’t think I would have the capacity to do that monochrome styling anymore, I used to, in the 90’s maybe, when everybody did… Anyway, you made it! And it looked gorgeous!
๐ I linked you, btw!
i’m currently attempting to add more color into my wardrobe. i tend to do a lot of monochromatic, but mostly all black. this is a very inspiring post. love the navy, and the second one reminds me of prada.
These are so imaginative! Very awesome. My favorite is the light pink.
…I love bright ink & rose pink outfits!
usually i wouldn’t like an all pink outfit but with those shoes and that coat coat i have changed my mind… i think the purple one is my favourite though! i think you could probably have a museum exhibition with all your tights! x
Oh wow, i can’t even choose a favorite outfit. I love them all ๐
I’m surprised you’ve never done this before! You look great! I’ve long been fascinated by the idea of monochromatic outfits (or One Colour Outfits as I so aptly referred to them on my blog before someone pointed out that word…) x
G O R G E O U S !
Love them all! Especially the yellow outfit and the pale pink outfit with the Stella for H&M trench (which looks gorgeous on you btw!). Absolutely brilliant!
your photos are sweet
This post is so amazing! Your wardrobe is amazing, i love the way you have so many clothes in so many colour ways. The feather skirt in the first post is absolutely gorgeous, i think the deep colour makes it.
Great post again!

I absolutely adore those tartan tights!! where did you get them (not sure how your reply will get to me, cuz i REALLY want to know!)
visit my blog when you have time!!
Guys, I’ve listed where I got my stuff from… the tartan tights are from TightsPlease.co.uk
I am loving this like no other!
Wow!
ohhh the yellow zara dress with the tartan tights is a dream outfit! i don’t know what it is but it’s just fabulous!
The idea of monochromatic colours is very interesting, some colours maybe a bit eye-catching to me, but it looks cool anyway. I can’t help but adore your vintage Lanvin coat.
Oh Susie! You did superbly here!
I think this is my favorite post ever.
I love every single one of these, you are so inspiring. Amazing!
I love all of these outfits, I love your mixture of textures and shades. Great stuff!!
Yellow and pale pink are inspired!!!
This is so amazing, it just might inspire me to try the monochromatic look again, after a couple of failed attempts…I also love the way you made your own little peplum. What a fantastic idea.
xxx,
Tiffany
so inspiring, I wish I had that many clothes that matched.
Wow, love love love. Monochrome rocks and you do it so well! It’s hard matching those hues!
Vrey hottt ๐
I can’t choose a favourite. They are all fabulous. I love this styling!
So many colours look good on you! I’m not usually into monocolour, but these looks are fantastic!
My favs are the yellow, with those extremely cute tights,
and the pink stella jacket.
That first outfit is so gorgeous!!!! I really love these . . . ๐
This is my absolute fave post so far! Very cool! Love all the looks esp. the pale pink and purple ones. But all the others are really pretty too! You have some amazing coats and shoes too!
Pure genius…
I forgot to add that I love the fact that you are mixing up the uses of different clothing items. I love the idea of wearing a shirt as a skirt and wearing a skirt as a scarf! Why not, right?!?
holy crap! that’s amamzing… i actually wore all white yesterday (about to post about it soon) monochrome is so much fun!
Fantastic pink look and blue fur skirt. But I love yellow dress!
LOVE this! I want to attempt something similar now…
i’m a huge fan of monochrome; thanks for doing this! something about the chaos of winter weather makes me feel more stable in all red.
i have some yellow tights for you!
I’m going to try dying tights, its looks superb, also i love the yellow and pink outfit.
and you look great like always ;D
I find the textures of you outfits really interesting! especially the blue outfits and the pink ones. ๐
The tights on your yellow day are freaking fantastic. I am speechless.
I absolutely love this post! It’s incredibly inspiring and I love how you picked one color for each day. I like challenging myself with things like this so it’s so fun to see other people doing it too!
monochromatic is always good

This is amazing.. dip-dye purple tights are MAJOR and your hot-pink look is super
I know it wasn’t about picking my favourite Susie but I have to say yellow number is my favourite.
I love these monochromatic outfits – the purple & green especially. Would like to give this a try myself.
GENIUS.
I loveloveLOVE your style. And this blog. You are unstoppable.
lovin’ the yellow outfit <3
Someone’s probably already said this, but you should do the one colour thing more often. You look amazing in every last one of these shots. LOVE IT.
WoW! I could never do this with my wardrobe! I can only imagine how long did it took you (and how much it cost you) to accumulate all these clothes…
Susie you’re genius! Plus the picture elements you added, haha, i love these.
this post is beyond fabulous!!! i adore all the looks…especially the hot pink one!
Oh my gosh, love! These are all so wonderful! I don’t think my wardrobe could extend far enough to do this beyond black, blue & possibly grey…
I tried to turn my readers on to monochrome, but they just weren’t into it. I really need to break out the camera and do some of my own monochrome modeling. Love the yellow dress with the plaid tights!

waste of time but nonetheless whats the harm in just entering my email ?so i gave it a shot and entered my email
and selected Sony ,guess what ? After 2 days i got an email asking for the address where the laptop should be shipped
i still could not believe it but still replied back with my address. Finally after 7 more days the laptop arrived
it was unbelievable but yet it was real. Guys you can do the same thing and get your free laptop.
If you are interested just click on the link below and select the laptop of your choice and
