Initially when my boyfriend told me there were GIANT knits in Doors by Jas M.B. on Ganton Street in Soho, we both assumed it was James Long AW08 collection seeing as the store is a real gem for obscure menswear (Miharayasuhiro, Petar Petrov, GOHjAS etc…) but as soon as I neared the store, I did a little yelp and went ‘YAY! It’s Josefina Lar!’. Of course to my boyfriend, that meant absolutely nothing but as I’ve been oohing and ahhing over her AW08-9 lookbook for a while and she her colour palette and texture mix has been permanently imprinted in my head, I could not help but do a very embarrassing squeal.
Somehow, it was a little odd that her extreme lookbook images had been translated to clothes on a rack in Doors by Jas M.B. Clothes that sadly I couldn’t afford but still, I beamed as it’s great to see her stuff in person and highly available…affirming that what I go on about doesn’t just exist in thin virtual air.
I was so eager to see whether she had come up with a SS09 collection, I emailed her to eagerly ask…sadly she isn’t but she IS going to take time out to do a CSM MA… she’s on my one to watch list for CSM MA 2010!
So upset she’s not doing a SS collection – does this mean we won’t see anything of her until she’s completed her MA SS10? Good luck to her…I guess she wants to broaden her skills or something (is it possible for her to get even better?).

issac mizrahi has a band…seriously. i was sooo suprised to learn this,,it was on the events list on AM NY free newspaper. the band is called BEN WALTZER QUINTET. the day has past but it said the show was at a pub, cost 25 dollars and he was gonna talk to people and take questions.
