I don’t wear trousers that often for the reason I have stated before which is that I can’t be bovvered to try them on in changing rooms and the general sizing complexities of them mean that I often have to shell out a lot more for some perfect trews only to discard them because in the morning, it’s easier to pull on a skirt or dress.
The other reason though is the aesthetic thing. The trews that tend to catch my eye are the ones with interesting detailing; panels, mix of materials, dramatic shapes and even on occasion, complicated patterns. i.e. the stuff that is normally easier to find in skirts. I just can’t help but make things difficult for myself. So these Inbar Spector trews are ticking the boxes with their high waisted detailing, lace and PVC panels and corsetry construction that is incorporated into the trousers that make the singular palette of black look a whole lot more interesting. These are from Spector’s debut catwalk AW08-9 collection which is made up of 20 pieces she considers to be key. For some, a perfectly pair of grey wide-legged tailored trousers may be key but for me, I’m looking to Spector’s vision for some ‘key’ black PVC and lace panelled trousers as my own ‘key’ piece (a word that goes down as being as vague and redundant as ‘basic’ and ‘essential’…).
Beautifully elaborate. Another example of the perfect ratio of tough brutishness to seductive chic.

I really like those trousers! Not at all sure why as they are not really the kind of thing I would wear. Must be something to do with the elaborate construction.

I’m considering going into a bondage shop and buying pvc pants, i looked them up online and they have pvc jodhpurs. totally unflattering and totally must have. i can’t find any jodhpurs and nice trousers for the life of me, i’m far too lazy to alter!
you know i’m wondering if that lady, whose name escapes me, the one who predicted we’ll be wearing pants in the fall. at first i scoffed, but now, now….

Was working on credits at home for a magazine today, there was one designer I couldn’t work out who’s it by and where’s it from. It was a pink-nude deconstuctured dress with zipper detailing….frustrated…I took a mini break to catch up reading your blog until I found this post today…….found it!!!! oooh these are great i am especially a fan of look 2nd from left and 4th from left, not so much 1 and 3 due to that shiny stuff on the legs which would be harder to wear i think…so great though 🙂
yes, pants can be very boring at times. but you do look great in them..(when you wear them). ‘pants’- another fashion challenge for you to complete.
