Seeing in Twos…

Seeing different labels in a similar palette really makes me want things even more.  This will probably sound like something quite basic and juvenile… ‘Oooh look at all the pretty colours that match… oooh, me wants!’.  But I guess when you have a mix of denim colours, grurple, greys and a dose of navy (aka my kind of black…) going on in labels that I LO-OVE, then that’s the sort of superficial feeling that ensues.

E-shop dream listing posts (you know the sort…’I want this, this and this…’) are a bit irritating/boring and I don’t often do it, but this one is actually for my selfish reference when I’ll be coming in for some mini money windfalls in a few weeks time and Two See, having relaunched their site (still waiting for news of their new Fouberts Place shop as they are moving from Covent Garden to Soho…) will probably be my first port of call.

‘Tis a happy coincidence that my picks all match up very nicely into a pat-pat palette but in very different stylistic ways…

Emilio de la Morena’s patchwork skirt is itching to be layered with similar denim colours…his tattoo print body will feed my ‘onesie’ fixation’…Jean Pierre Branganza is printing floaty tops and dropped crotch pants with ship sails that remind me of the Haider Ackermann exhibition I saw at Hyeres…Tillmann Lauterbach gets a sole UK stockist me thinks and his ruffled dress and multi-pocketed cardigan are indulging in the need for ‘grurple’…the new JCDC in London hasn’t opened yet but for some reason, I’m wanting this quite basic Caesar quote top to reminisce about A-Level Latin and a kitschy American flag bag (I quite like the subtraction of the red…)…the perfect barrel bags have come via JW Anderson who does them in a medium and small size…I want to cris-cross them over my chest and pretend I’m off on a Guy Grieve-type foraging trip…

  1. Do you mean the PHYSICAL labels?
I do have a couple of tops with lovely labels – one is sparkly gold and the other is a very pretty salmon colour which I couldn’t bear to get rid of for that reason.
My favourite though, is pretty lining. It completely makes a garment for me and inspires all sorts of wonderful combinations.
Did I completely misread what you wrote?
    xx

  2. Ooops… I did mean labels as in the designer labels…not the physical ones…like JPB, JCDC and EDLM are all different labels and they’ve used a similar colour palette in different ways…. sorry about the confusion!

  3. Hmmm yes rereading it it is pretty blatant what you meant, sorry!
On the other hand it has inspired me to write about nice linings…
I do love that cardigan you posted.

  4. That patchwork skirt is really nice, but the price is a bit too much for my budget. I wonder if I should get me a sewing machine.

  5. i’ve been spending way too much time on their site recently. too bad i can’t really stretch to much more than a keyring at the moment.
i’m completely in love with both the dresses you picked.
