I do apologise on the eve of this much-needed long Easter weekend (not for the Americans though….!) for bombarding everyone’s eyes with highly colourful, slightly headache inducing images….
I didn’t mean to seek out these designers that are have their heads up in colour blocking, all sorts of prints, a tendancy to mis-match and a disregard for trends… their collections just found me, a person who couldn’t actually dress head to toe in any of this stuff because I’m a half hearted wuss who can’t really carry off a head to toe look that is very much signature of that designer and because I have a natural propensity to try and hide the origins of a garment.
Sadly, I can’t push the boat out enough to have fun in the complete look of these designers’ happy-happy-la-la-land visions. No, instead, I’d rather be a scroogey pessimist and rain on their parades with evil thoughts of recession and the like by pairing these pieces with a heap of grey, something sharp/fierce going on on the feet and perhaps some leather too.
I so wish I could have seen C. Neeon’s AW08-9 presentation in Paris as looks like it was a wonderful riot of lines, swirls and drapings….
Devandervar is a streetwear/fashion label designed by Sofie Edvard Nielsen and Tina Vanda who likes strong colour contrasts, strategic lines and isn’t at all restricted by the humble sweatshirt…
Cooperative Designs has been getting a fair bit of press lately and their AW08-9 collection is all about tribal imagery, Jan Svankmajer’s Faust and Dario Argento’s Suspiria (yes, I had to Wikipedia the last one….and yes, I had to edit it…. the name now sounds a lot more familiar…wonder why they spelt it wrong on the Coop Design website….).
I actually went to see the collection at Cube PR on behalf of Brittique who is the sole online stockist of Coperative Designs and I was tickled by their Aztec references and complex jersey knitting. Don’t shoot me but I’m saying yes to the fringed jersey on the trousers.
**EDIT** Yes, I’m a doofus…a reader helpfully sent me this…‘There are no llamas in Mexico where the Aztecs (or Mexicas) once lived (and still live if we think about their descendents). Therefore, the reference in the complex jersey knitting is Andean / Inca.’
Ohmygod…like, that’s so CON-FUSING! Like, seriously, my head is like seriously hurting from all this history stuff!

Hi,
Love your stuff, but just thought I should mention that it’s Dario Argento’s Suspiria, not Dani.
Wonderful movie too – you should check it out.
i’m liking the person in the second to last photo with the orange, lilac and red combo!
My favorite is the C. Neeon with the girl in the soft grey dress with the red-orange-grey-pink-yellow striped socks and red peeptoes. In fact, I like the shoes in pretty much all of the C. Neeon looks!
I say yes to the hand knit wool big jumpers/dress!!! My mother made a feel for me and they are gorgeous!!!!
OMG!!!! a FEW… not a feel *blushes*
We like bright happy colors in the US.

Just briefly glancing over the pictures, I was going to comment directly that they look like C-Neeon– but then I realized that they actually are C-Neeon! When I can pinpoint a relatively low-key line, that’s when I know I’ve spent too much time on fashion.
Before coming across your blog I never would have considered colour-schemes like those shown here. But after a few months of a steady Style Bubble and other rich sources diet I can easily see myself in those Devandervar pieces.
Nothing like a spray of neon to brighten up Good Friday 🙂
These are Susie B. clothes and stylings!
I love the Devandervar tops! I love colors and these look so refreshing!
personally i’m loving the peruvian inspired knits… so cool!
perfect for easter…
I love cneeon and devandervar,
one might think that the explosion of colors in devandervar’s sweater dresses might not work, but they surprisingly do!
did you know, that the carpets, the cneeon models stand on, are an edition by cneeon for vorwerk? you can buy these for your home :=)
I love all of the pictures and I love all of the patterns and colours. Maybe we are loving all the bright colours thinking about all the yummy chocolate and their wrappers hehe
Enjoy your long weekend!!!
hah, this is just the kind of stuff I would wear…..if it was in black 😉
<3<3<3
Hmmm the Devandervar reminds me of those Louise Goldin colors/lines
C. Neeon’s stuff is just amazing…definitely my fave of the few you wrote about. It’s so crazy but it’s done so well…I would love that dress in the second picture. All the looks are just so pretty!
