Sneaky Sneaker Stiletto Wish

phshoes.jpg

Phshoes Images being burnt in the brain quite frequently happens with me.  Images from Grazia magazine being burnt in the brain however isn’t that recurrent (unless, you’re talking about that  pic of me where I look orange that will forever haunt me).   However, this week, their fashion spread features quite prominently THOSE Pierre Hardy white sneaker stilettos styled in the sort of way that I’d wear them if I got my mitts on them.  I also learnt that Gareth Pugh is doing the most fierce motorcycle fingerless gloves and that Emporio Armani does pale green bloomers but going back to THE shoes.

If there is one reason that I’m glad I’m not in Paris for fashion week this week, it’s that I don’t have to bear the pain of walking past the Pierre Hardy store in Palais Royal, whilst lamenting my fiscal inability to procure said shoes.  So I’m just going to have to throw a sneaky wish, something that I don’t do that often, which is to implore a high street retailer to push out a knock-off version.  I quite literally cower as I type that because for shame on me for wanting such a thing.  It’s just that…. well….¬£610 for a pair of those Pierre Hardy beauties is too much to swallow.  I could just about handle ¬£300, ¬£400 at a real push but above ¬£500 is a no-go.  I don’t make knock-off requests often.  I really don’t.  My theory is if I can afford it then that’s great, if not, then I look elsewhere and do my own thing, DIY/vintage or otherwise.  But I see these shoes as the finite solution to balancing out any prettiness/romance/girliness that floods into the wardrobe as well as being a fantastic focal point on their own.

Or else…a wholesale/press discount would do very nicely if such a thing exists…

  1. i too am hunting similar white booties, something that overs the whole foot now wins over any court in my mind and i need white skater boots! i love the extended tongue of these hardy shoes and the chunky bangle on the models arm
p.s. blog is back to normal, what happened earlier?

  2. I too hope for a knock-off of these (or a big fat bonus), however a slightly wider heel (still stiletto) would be nice as I would get stuck in the Amsterdam streets within 15ft from my frontdoor!!!

  3. I bet you Office or some other “edgy” high street shoe shop will do something similar. Its a shame that they are so expensive, I could totally see you putting together some fab outfits with these!

  4. Ohmygoodness, I’ve been loving this spread too. I’ve always been a big fan of matching pretty with grrrrrrr with washed out colours. The whole combo just works. And yes, those shoes work too. I hope someone produces an alternative soon.

  5. i must say, these aren’t something i’d pick out. but they do look amazing in the shoot.
also, the comment about the orange photo made me laugh. you definitely weren’t orange!

  6. I absolutely love these. Going Paris for my b’day and the thought has crossed my mind although I’m taunting myself as I too do not have and could not part with that kinda money!
I want the multi-colour ones though. Don’t worry Susie, I feel your pain.

  7. I saw a similar pair (with a chunky heel) at Nine West and was debating if I though it was fabulous of if it reminded me of Victoria Beckham opening some baseball game in the US with high-heeled trainers. After seeing the way it was styled on your post, I go with the fabulous!
Now thinking about it, I also had a similar pair years and years ago, which I threw away. Note to self: don’t throw away stuff in decluttering-madness-moments!
