What could possibly make designer bags that cry out ‘I’m worth a lot of money!’ marginally more appealing to me? My Prestigum.com, a site that I hadn’t been aware of before (because clearly a French guide to luxury designer goods is not really for the humble likes of me) has momentarily duped me into looking at their photshopped images of famous works of art incorporated with zee bags. Of course, scrolling through their 38 picks of the best bags of SS08, the prices are on the astronomical side and so alongside the a-million-fold astronomical value of the art these bags have been merged into, it’s all a bit money. But the ‘money-effect’ is quite pretty to behold and in a tragically materialistic way, I have also been duped into momentarily thinking that I wanted/needed some of the bags. Actually, scratch the word momentarily. I have indeed come away wanting a Balenciaga floral weekender and possibly a Yves Saint Laurent stars clutch…

These look really beautiful – I love the art they’ve chosen. I just want to surround myself with those images.
I love the one with the prada fairy bag and the one with the Nuclear print.This was a neat idea.
I love the Egon Schiele with the fendi clutch, definitely my favourite image of the lot. Though I’m sure my tutors would be beside themselves over these additions. Haha.

It reminds me whenever I see designers original sketches of garments, I wish they would use it as an advertisement. I’ve seen amazing Dolce and Gabbana and Jean-Paul Gaultier original drawings.
