Carrying some Ruffly-Puff

lightfan.jpg

Ok, so I should be slapped on the wrist for quickly criticising the ‘Blah All-Overs’ seen in the latest issues of UK Elle and Vogue.  *Slaps wrist*.  There?  Happy?  Back to my postive thinking self because I can gladly say that the ‘Light and Fantastic’ editorial shot by Javier Vallhonrat from Vogue really did shed some light into my dusty brain.  The vibrancy of the colours and the newly refreshed neon injection aside, I’m intrigued by this Armand Basi chiffon ruffle clutch pictured here.

Trust me to be into a bag that is seemingly  constructured out of those 60’s ruffle swimcaps.  The texture and colour of it is such that you wouldn’t expect to see it on a functional bag which is probably why it works for me.  I’m going to be seeking out vintage options on this bag-whimsy of mine and see what comes forth.  Or I could grab one of those truly chintzy plasticky fabric shower curtains in a retro pastel shade and cover a clutch with it.

Sometimes even I’m peturbed by the things that I take a fancy to….

  1. I absolutly loved ‘light and fantastic’ too. I think this was my favourite picture I just adore the neon orange with pale blue…I wonder where I can buy some neon orange accessories?!

  2. I loved this editorial too!!!!! I really liked the coloured socks + heels combos! Oh and the clutch is too cute!!!!

  3. I understand being attracted to weird things sometimes, I fell madly in love with one of those fuzzy green and orange fake fur wool Prada clutches from last fall. They were kind of hideous and looked like a muppet, but man, I wanted it so bad!

How can you view this editorial. The Fashion Spot site has it as invitation only. I’m sure I’m late to the game, but how can I score an invite?
    Thanks

  5. I’m attracted to the bag, but I’m also curious if there will be any street stylers wearing ruffled swim caps this spring/summer… Didn’t Louise Goldin show swim caps on the runway…?
