Interesting that if I wore this outfit today, I’d be coming home a with a sodden mess around my waist because it is absolutely tipping it down outside right now. My newfound love of rummaging in Paperchase fo outfit inspiration knows no bounds. I only wish I was this crafty when I was still at uni (oh 10% student discount…why did you have to leave me like that….?). I picked up these handmade paper strips (they are ‘helpfully’ described as ‘Handmade in the World’ so I have no eloquent term for them…) for ¬£1.50 each and having road tested them as waist embellishment (with the aid of a skinny belt), I think they are sturdy enough to morph into skirt form so hopefully, once this god-awful weather is over, a delicate paper strand skirt can come out to play.
The multi strands of the strip bends into the shape of your body when you strap it in so you get this structural sort of pelmut shape.
A textural interest to an otherwise quite blah outfit (except for the see through t-shirt… !)…

ah it would be so delicate!…my sister made a paper dress for some art project once, from stiff, plain wallpaper, and it turned out pretty amazing…imagine it, a paper dress, very facehunter worthy
susie, who took this picture?:)

I had no idea Paperchase did student discount. I better get ahead while i still can!
man, you are too cool. everytime i visit this site, you always got something creative goin. one question: wouldn’t the paper rip easily or is it pretty sturdy?
Great outfit.
really creative!
love your tee.
is it american apparel?
Paperchase Handmade in the World stuff is mainly from India and is fairly traded, the people who make it work in decent conditions and get a living wage and all that jazz. Just FYI 🙂
I used to work there, the loss of my 50% staff discount on ribbons and jewels makes me a sad panda.
oooh, now i really do prefer this one (the blah outfit lol)! but were do i find such a belt in berlin?
btw: would be interested in your shirt, too. where’d you buy it?
Thanks…I’m really not that creative…just into raiding Paperchase!
