In the spirit of all things a bit on the rauchy side today (or in my case, ‘distinctly un-sexy’), I’m really intrigued by the upcoming Felder Felder show during LFW as their last presentation sounded like a bit of one of those annoying over-fashioned parties that does however produce the wares to back up all the overcrowded fuss. Ignoring what the German twin designers (Annette and Danielle Felder) have lined up for next season though, their current collection is inspired by Nico and more to the point, these metallic linen dresses are exactly what I have in mind when pairing the ‘bitch boots’ I tried on with some ‘bitch dresses’. Again, like I said before, it isn’t about about a horrid kind of bitchiness but it’s about portraying a harsh nochalence in the expression, whilst protecting a certain vunerablility. Unlike say a brashly fierce metallic dress by Dolce & Gabbanna, the Felder Felder dresses are a softcore approach. Much like Nico I suppose, as her music tells a different tale to how she looks.

Oh la la, finally some comments on German designers!
Nico is my absolute favorite so it’s great to see there are people being so influenced by her right now.
my new bangs *fringe* makes me feel a bit like nico with a much much higher pitched voice!
that dress… ah, the future is now.
It’s ironic that an interest in Nico produced these shiny dresses, as her signature was a black or white pantsuit and, later, a sort of dour gothic minimalism. Nice dresses, though.

Well said. I recently started reading your blog and I’m already hooked.
I loved Nico’s look. @ Lola, I agree it’s interesting that Nico led them to this look;I definitely understand how a designer can be inspired by an image or person but come up with pieces that the inspiration would never have worn. I have snake pieces named for Mary Queen of Scots that were inspired by something that was said about her, but it’s nothing she would have ever worn. In fact the design itself was separately inspired by a piece of Victorian jewelry made quite a few centuries after Mary’s time. 🙂
gorgeous pictures !
Saskia: I’ll try to do more German designers coverage!
It is surprising that from Nico, they got these dresses but I think it’s about Nico’s physical presence than her dress sense that they have come about…. but yes, I love Nico in all respects (music, look, attitude…)
