When you see leather dresses appearing in H&M and Zara, something twigs that leather garments won’t be maligned to trend obscurity. In 30 degree heat leather-anything-bar-shoes is pretty far from my mind yet when I saw the new Jil Sander ad, I wanted to smell that inevitable high-quality leather and also touch these well cut-simple shapes. The high-street versions err towards wearable looser, smock like shapes but these are well-formed and sleek without looking overly sexy or cliched. The search for the leather dress definitely will continue once the temperature drops 10 degrees.

I look at those dresses and I can think is how sweaty and uncomfortable they’d be. You’d have to get a full body stocking underneath to even bear it.
i love those dresses, they are both creepy and cool.
ooo this just reminded me to dig up a high waisted leather pencil skirt i’ve had for years.
I am interested to see how the leather dress trend plays out. I’ve seen some pretty cool ones in some label’s fall look books.
It’s 98 deg (F) heat yesterday, and I found the PERFECT leather jacket at Zara, I had to walk away.
god I love the jil sander collection for fall. seriously, I am tempted to just blow all my savings. it’s perfect and timeless and wearable and did I say perfect?
and their ads are always impeccable. all clothing, nothing else. no hair or makeup or model distractions, no lighting, no backdrops: just clothes.
