Hot Hot Not

I do realise the growing number of weather-related posts these past few months is getting a little ridiculous but without having a complete disregard for the world outside of my style hovel (I thought using the word ‘bubble’ would be a touch too self important), I DO take the weather into account of what I’m wearing.  I was happy to accept that the summer of 2007 in London has been appalling (I only seem to remember 3 days of sunshine) and accept that the nights were drawing in and I’ll get my silver lining out from that cloud by thinking ahead to the new season and spanking my wages out on the things I’ll be wearing solidly through the thick winters, rather than temporary flimsiness.  I accepted all of that and moved on.

So what comes?  26 degree stickiness and full on sunshine.  I dare not complain but I had to dig out the shades, iron those flimsy tops and so into the autumnal groove was I that I felt a little uneasy going out sans jacket/cardigan.  I stuck to my guns a little by wearing thigh high socks.  My mind has been set in motion, in the direction of all things AW07-8 and this day of random sunshine is not going to derail me.  In a spoilt brattish way, I’m not prepared to backtrack.

However, I did let slip a slight backtracking by buying some Eley Kishimoto sandals at the bSTORE sample sale yesterday, though in my defense, I had planned on wearing them with all things wooly, thicked and ribbed.  Guess the weakness of giving into the sunshine got the better of me.  Or was it the juicy primary colours? (I’m a simple child…. a pairing of primary colours really does make me a happy bunny…).

not the california awesome hot, but the east coast horrible humidity.
my rant being dun, i feel the same way, but while i want to wear my wool cap, i have to go on wearing shorts and a tank top 😛

  5. Those shoes are super cute. And they go so well with that top.
We haven’t had much summer here on the west coast of Canada either. I’ve been wearing light jackets all summer long.

  6. Susie, you have a knack for always posting my dream shoes! I’ve been LONGING for those (and all of Eley Kishimoto dresses known to man, for that matter) and the pairing of primary colours is among my favourite when it comes to clothes/anything.

  7. It was I.T. final summer sale in HK this weekend and everything is 90% – 60% off!! I got myself a pair of Hussein Chalayan’s high heel in black leather and a pair of April 77 white denim for only $1,500!!!
I feel very content now 😀

  8. Those shoes are fabbo. But when I wear shoes like that with tights my feet tend to slip around like crazy – does that happen to anyone else?
I’m so jealous of the Bernhard Wilhelm shades – I got the black ones for Christmas and lost the visor attachment in a club at Easter. Doh, I only wore them a few times!!

  9. Awesome shoes!! Rain? Where? It’s been winter down under here (aussie-land) though you wouldn’t know it. There’s been practically NO rain and we’re STILL in a drought =|
oh well, I like the sunshine =D

  10. 😀 I almost bought those shoes! Ended up getting the other eley kishimoto ones in the same colourway!
I think I may even have seen you on the way into the sale but was too embarrassed to say anything… If it was you, I was the dolt who couldn’t work out that the basement was actually behind the counter lol…
Wore my shoes on holiday in Paris this weekend – so comfy! – definitely not backtracking… they are perfect for all things wooly and warm too ;-D
