If the excessive gushing and smugness of my happily coupled status altogether made you want to ram your fingers down your throat and swirl them around in bile, then you’ll be happy to know that there is a downside. Whilst shopping in the fantastic sale at the Shop at Bluebird yesterday, I happed upon the most beautifully cut black Sharon Wachob blazer (flick to the 2nd pic for the blazer) with trailing bits of chiffon reduced to a very reasonable ¬£137. Reasonable though it was, in my warped head, I couldn’t quite justify buying three pieces of outerwear in one month (the Balenciaga jacket, the APC cape…). It’s one of those things where you get stuck in a groove of buying, say, short skirts and then you have to smack yourself and say ‘Wake up! Stop buying those damn skirts!.’ So after much prancing and preening in front of the mirror in that jacket, I did decline.
However, the boyf fared better and picked up a Omar Kashoura cardigan that gave me temporary green eyed envy because in the same way that the Sharon Wauchob jacket was a perfect bit of autumnal ‘throw-it-on-over-everything’ bit of outerwear, so is this cardigan with it’s drapings, buttons and bits and bobs. So the downside is that seeing the other half fare better in retail therapy land can leave one feeling a little empty. I’m now hankering for both the Omar K cardi because of it’s mere physical presence (I shall most definitely be nicking it….) and the Sharon W jacket because of my foolishness of not getting it (I shall make another trip and do a bit more preening…). Pray there be a solution to this needless hankering.
P.S. On a more serious note, I hadn’t heard of the label Omar Kashoura before and I’m loving his use of ruffles on the shirt and traditional suit jacket.

Shhh Susie, don’t tell everyone about the Shop At Bluebird. it’s my secret discovery and I don’t want everyone to know about it…!
Oh My.
I’ve been a bit of a lurker on your blog (found through the GREAT kingdom of style) and I love your posts and your overall style. Blogs are surely taking over my life.
But this Omar K cardi.. I melted inside when I saw it. It is a real beaut.
Will this small masterpiece cost me an arm and a several pints of blood? Or just a hand? My internal melt has turned into ferocious buying desire.
Haha, shouldn’t you be charging for that kind of knge?wdoel!
and don’t get me started on the Sharon W blazer.. It appears I have a tuxedo fetish
Ayesha: I’m pleased to tell you that it won’t cost an arm, blood or any hand….it’s ¬£57 on sale at The Shop at Bluebird which for all of what is going on in the cardi is pretty good I reckon…. question is…are you a Londoner?
Rollergirl: I wouldn’t quake…doubt the people who are staunch Hoxton/Shoreditch-ites will venture that far out West for ONE store…. it is fab though isn’t it?
Love that sexy grandpa-chic cardi.
your boyfriend leaving with a piece of clothing and you not getting to buy your jacket is hardly a problem or downside to a relationship and really it just shows how superficial and shallow you are. are we supposed to feel sorry for the fact that you didnt get something and your boyfriend did? frankly, the only person i feel sorry for is your boyfriend
Um…Parker…everything was meant in jest…. it’s all meant as exaggerated-faux-dramaticism…. oh dear….
Ouch. Parker, that wasn’t exactly the point of the post.
On another note, I love that Sharon W blazer.
Sorry to shamelessly plug my place of work but we did a shoot using quite a bit of Omar’s stuff … love it, the pleats and ruffles and layers make me melt … it can easily be transformed into w/w too. Here is shoot:

Londoner born and bred, I feel to trot by Kings Road tomorrow… eeeeee.
your boyfriend isn’t asian! .. haha.. i had kind of expected him to be..
Sarah: Um…why would you expect that just out of interest….?
oooh, so ‘ooooh!’ (like that damned typhoo ad)
just took a brief peek at his myspace and it is all so beautiful! But I am so far from london 🙁 Do you know of any online stockists, or does bluebird have some secret online store?
Or generally could you point out any other perveyors of somewhat quirky basics online?
No online store unfortunately for Bluebird, but I would contact Omar directly to see if he can help! Smaller, independent designers are usually more obliging!
In terms of quirky basics, I love the label Pudel… you can find it here at 111vox

They ship internationally I think.
What a lovely cardigan! Why on Earth did you let Boyfriend buy it when you could have? Although it does look rather charming on him. It’s playful, almost the male version of coquettish (which is meant as a compliment–not a girly style, but rather, an ironic, experimental one).
for silly reasons, really. was not being biased or prejudiced, i hope, but had always had some vague impression about same-race courting and marriages… am terribly sorry if i was being indignant and offending.
I saw a Sharon Wachob coat in Chicago. I was wondering if there are any other stores that cary this wonderful designer?

I should have checked my spelling. I spelled carry incorrectly! I am really looking forward to getting a response to my previous question. I would love to view this designer’s other pieces. I was in Ireland a few years ago, and loved the style of clothing there!
