Hard not to Li-Lo Like

The cover for the autumn issue of Pop has been revealed and you really have to rub your eyes and squint a bit before your realise who it is.  Shot by, Mert & Mercus (naturally), is Lindsay Lohan looking, as for the Miu Miu ads she did last year, decidedly non-specific.  By non-specific, I’m not denying the overall look of the shot which is stark, sultry and altogether a vast improvement from the summer cover (was it me or was that whole issue’s emphasis on nu-rave a little on the forced side of things…?).  It’s just that if it takes me a minute to ponder who it actually is, what exactly is the point of putting her on the cover?  Still, at least there’s a hint more of a recognisable LiLo as opposed to the apparitions we saw in the Miu Miu ads.  The Mert & Mercus magic has worked yet again…

  1. Lilo has many problems…photogs and advertisers need to not use her period…photoshop used or not, she isn’t a good role model for anyone. Sorry if I sound hardnosed but this kid needs to get out of the picture (s) for a long while…she’s not handling it well.

  2. Why don’t they just use a model for the front page, if noone can even recognise her? I bet it would cost a lot less… Maybe there’s a feature article?

  3. Making her unrecognisable is illogical and misses the point of putting Lohan on the cover in the first place

  4. no offense, but actually,
i recognise her on both this cover and the miu miu ad

  5. Well she certainly is the lady of the moment, scandal or scandal. I guess that bad girl image is wetting the appetite of the editors around the world. I must she does not do anything for me at all, I liked her in Freaky Friday but she was average in Mean Girls. She has potential as an actress but if she doesn’t watch it she will get lumped into a pile with the ‘famous for nothings’ like ala Hilton and Ritchie.

  6. I could never imagine Paris Hilton or Nicole Ritchie being shot like this, so maybe there is hope. I miss the soul though.

  7. I really do not like that girl… having her on the cover makes me not want to buy it! What to do? Maybe I shall buy it but then rip up the cover… making me pathetic but at least I won’t have to see her…

  8. I feel bad for Lindsay. She so clearly needs help and is so clearly not getting it. And she was so cute in Mean Girls and Freaky Friday (not to mention The Parent Trap). I liked the Miu Miu ads, and as an image, I do like this cover. That said, I need a break from all the Lindsay Lohan coverage. She’s even considered breaking news on CNN.

  9. I don’t like her either. And there’s no reason to feel bad for her. She makes her own decisions.
