I have been a little lazy on the Susie Styles front so I thought I’d go back to the roots of how I dress. Which is that no matter how pretty something is, I just can’t help but add a touch of the gauche or ugly to it. It’s an impulse, something I can’t fight and much like the way I feel about the way I look – ‘Ugly-Pretty’ is how I would term the way I dress too. I’m sure it’s not hard to pick out the ‘ugly’ elements in these outfits…

I really love the second outfit. It remind me Comme des garçons with pretty prints and pastel colors!

They’re all very you, Susie, uglypretty doesn’t necessarily mean you look bad as a result .. and can I take the chance to say I LOVE your spiderweb socks? The dress you’ve got on with it is a bit of lovely too. As is the M & S dress in the third picture, I’m crazy about the print.
i love ur blog it is so kl, very kl ideas
I’ve been reading your blog for a while… its one of the first pages I look at when I turn on my computer at work!! hehehe…
I dunno if you knew, but seeing as you didn’t mention it, you’re featured on the ‘www.handbag.com’ website!!
Your style is so self expressive. Though humility is a virtue, don’t belittle yourself or your style. Ugly/pretty? No no, bubble,…pretty.
If that’s ugly, then I don’t want to be pretty!
really loving the laura ashley look
great way to put the turban in action in #2, and also, i love the grey thigh hi’s… do they stay up? i just got a pair of grey tights, love them!
Tres jolie-laide! I love the way you mix and match.
Love the 4th
I just started looking at your site, and I love your clothing sense! You’re on the American Apparel site: http://www.americanapparel.net/presscenter/dailyupdate/dailyUp.asp?d=30&t=586
…but maybe you already knew that.
PERFECTION…every last one of them
like the second outfit.. sometimes I don’t really get the ugliness, but I guess you mean, one shall not always stay on the safe side style wise huh
‘ugly’ isn’t perhaps the exact word i’d use to describe the element you need to add to an outfit. it’s more like a piece of you, a stamp, a mark that says whatever i’m wearing, i’m in control, i’m still here, it’s mine, i’m not following, “rar!” i have a similar thing maybe. i wear a neat little outfit which my elegant sister might wear, and then i have to mess it up somehow with bad hair or something “other”… anyhow, you look lovely susie, and your “thing” whatever it is actually makes your outfits easier to look at – sometimes pretty perfection can drive one a bit demented…
hi! i am from Croatia.. you are nice.. bye!!
ugly is a great pic. love how you mix and match your clothes!
