I was contacted a few months ago to contribute to a new London-based fashion online webzine and contribute I did. Fashion 156 with it’s launch Colour Issue, officially went live today and everything from layout to content and editorial is pretty much fantastico – and I’m saying that without bias because I’d just zip my mouth up if I didn’t love it. It will bring you street style pics, fashion news, latest wanted items and also features some awesome designers every week. Fashion 156 will come out with a different themed issue every 156 hours (a week) which is no easy task when putting together so much content. Guy Hipwell, the editor and creative director has sourced quite tremendous talent in terms of photography, make-up and designers so mucho respect to him! (No, he didn’t tell me to write this blog post!).
My contribution is very wee indeed but I’m also really glad to have been given the opportunity to do this. And before you ask, NO, I haven’t suddenly turned into a fashion journo. This is purely voluntary and I’m still at my full time media job doing my non-fashion thang. If you need another reason to go visit Fashion156, there will be hilarious pics of me wearing different sunglasses every week in the Fashion Spy section to go with the theme of each issue. You can see my pained expression in this picture, as I actually hate getting my picture taken (taking pictures of myself makes it a whole lot easier for me to do Susie Styles – it means I don’t have to subject someone else to my complete inability to look normal!).
Um, a week is 24 x 7 hours, i.e. 168 not 156… I mean, the magazine looks cool and everything, but someone needs to be warned of this new 6.5 day timescale for publishing it…

yes i totally know what i have let myself in for, but as a stylist for 15yrs i am used to working crazy long hours, so yes, it is madness but we will publish a new issue every 6.5 days 156 hours. it is our USP as even Grazia magazine is 7 days and we eventually need to become a commercially viable publication, and this is hopefully a way to attract advertisers! So issue 2 hopefully goes live 10pm Sunday night! thanks for your interest and HUGE thanks to Susie! x
