Memo to Target: Must start shipping to the UK!

The Luella Bartley collection didn’t really tickle my fancy, the Tara Jarmon was a little bland, even the Paul & Joe is not completely rocking my world.  However, even from these teensy weensy images, I can see that Behnaz Sarafpour’s Go International collection for Target is uber cute.  Contributing to that ‘uber’ are the prices as well, with nothing exceeding $50.  Convert that back into the strong strong pound, and you bonus bargain goodness!  To be honest, I’m not a fan of Behnaz Sarafpour’s mainline collections.  Her clothes don’t really get me excited when on the catwalk but when translated to lower end, cost conscious clothes, I don’t think she’s scrimped on the design at all.  I guess I have found another reason to do a NYC shopping spree in September.

  1. I love the plum dress, although the word “plum” just doesn’t seem to capture it. Not sure what to suggest for an alternative, though.
    Color names. Hmmmm …

  2. i love it! the peices seem alot more functional and wearable…like they couldn’t really mess them up or make them fit wrong….do you know when they will be at target? it seems like paul and joe just got there

  3. Hey Susie,
Thought I’d check in after my school uniform comment. I must say I’m shocked by the rich content and the quality and sheer quantity of information you’ve posted since then! You’re quite unfreakin believable, quite the blogging inspiration! Respect!
Anyways, thought I’d point you to one of the first decent Aussie Designer/ high street collaberations. Kit Willow and Portmans, seen as your pretty up on these things. I reckon it’s pretty cool, Willow has a unique feminine aesthetic, I’m quite a fan. check it out!

  4. Lol B: It’s a shame you stopped blogging…. I’d love to read you take on things like this Willow/Portmans collab since you express opinions so well.
Thanks so much for letting me know about this collection – I rather love it! I tried to click through to the Portmans site but the flash was a bit off, any idea of price points? Or does any other Aussie know?
It does look VERY pretty indeed – again…shame I won’t be able to get my grubby mitts on those dresses.

  5. Now you know how I feel about TopShop here in the States! I can look at all the great clothes, but I can’t have them…

  6. Hey Susie,
I do have some news regarding me and blogging which I’ll be able to confirm soon, and thanks for the nice compliment!
I found out some more info about Willow and Portmans on a forum in Oz
“The rationale behind the collaboration is to inject a new level of elegance into the brand, while simultaneously making the innovative Australian designer fashion accessible to every girl.
With prices ranging from $169.95 to $259.95, the collection aims to deliver unique designer fashion at high street prices.”
Mmm, not exactly high street prices really! Portmans is an unusual partner in some respects as Portmans demographic is a slightly more mature, conservative consumer. Put it this way, I’d never shop there and I’m pushing 40! Perhaps Portmans are trying to reach a new audience.
It’s not really following in the same vein as Top Shop/H&M/Target designer partnerships is it? The price points mean there’s still an element of exclusivity, wonder if there will be queue’s round the block?
