“Come back here thief!”

There I was, standing by the bus stop, minding my own business.  So bored was I that I went browsing in the windows of my charity shop (thrift store) peering inside to see whether there was any interesting jewellery (it hadn’t opened yet).  Piled up outside were heaps of old clothing, left there as people usually leave their unwanted stuff outside charity shops.  What caught my eye was this belt and the lovely brown double leather straps and the nice forest green colour.  The street was deserted, no-one was looking, I couldn’t be bothered to wait until the store opened for me to then ask how much this old belt would be in the charity shop.  So I slipped it into my handbag like a naughty child stealing penny sweets.  Apparently now, I’m a hobo who picks rags off the street.  But then I redeemed myself a little as I was about to walk off with a petty crime to my name.  I slipped a £2 coin in the letter box of the charity shop.  I have no idea how much the belt would have been priced up had it made it to the store but I’m guessing £2 would have sufficed.  Now, I think I’ll wear this belt with terrible outfits as penance to further redeem myself.
