Remember when I was pondering whether the high street stores would replicate the Balenciaga A/W06 helmets (seen in just about every editorial going these days….) on the cheap? Well, nope, Topshop haven’t got there yet (though they do have very puffed up peak caps at the moment), but eBay vintage sellers have cottoned onto the catwalk trend and these two Balenciaga-esque helmets are up for fashionistas’ biddings. Well, apparently, nobody is taking that fashion forward step because there are no bids as yet! I’m waiting for SOMEONE to walk out onto the streets wearing one. It isn’t going to be me, that’s for sure…. well….. never say never…… these things can go a bit viral and before you know it, you’ll see a picture on My Style Diary wearing one.
60’s Mod Union Jack Mr John Helmet – How patriotic! I can REALLY imagine the tourist stands at Westminster selling these. Kind of like that poofy tall hat Joey insisted on wearing in that episode of Friends where they were in London.
Vintage White Felt Helmet – This one looks a lot more do-able. But knowing my larger than normal head, it will probably perch ridiculously high.

WAU … Balenciaga forever ! Only that !!
Kisses
p.d. I sended you a message for if you can link me ! If you can, thanks !
If see one more Balenciaga riding hat I am going to freak out. They are everywhere and although I adore balenciaga and his collections…I feel every magazine is killing it.
^Couldn’t agree with you more…..
I loved it on the catwalk but it’s so boring to see the catwalk outfits recreated in every editorial using EXACTLY the same styling. It’s a tad unimaginative…
Thanks for link me ! Kisses !
I love it, actually. I would totally wear one in the wintertime. I like it when fashion has a bit of humor.
sweet hats!
p.s. ‘helmut’ is actually spelled ‘helmet’ when you talk about hats…while ‘helmut’ is a name, like Helmut Lang!
^Thanks! I have no idea why I keep on spelling helmet the Helmut Lang way. Even when I was just typing it correctly, my fingers seemed to guide me to the ‘u’ instead of the ‘e’…. maybe I’m more used to seeing the word Helmut rather than Helmet…oh these are modern times!
