Yesterday, I wore something that two years ago, I wouldn’t be caught dead in. Something that I had associated with tacky hip hop videos and Jessica Simpson. Yes, that’s right – shorty shorts. It’s all very well that models look great in them being 5"10 sticks but for the average joe (or josephine as the case maybe….), quite frankly, it’s an item of clothing that strikes fear into anyone’s hearts. But temperatures suddenly soared and I HAD bought these Patrizia Pepe shorts in sale thinking I could wear them on the beach (the beach holiday fell through). I spotted them at the tippy top of my wardrobe and literally tapped my fingers on my chin and thought ‘Hmmm….I wonder…..’. I was quite methodical when coming to my decision:
1) It is freaking 32 degrees celcius out there
2) I am going to Barcelona in a few weeks where it’s all shorts ahoy so I suppose this could be training session
3) I can’t allow a purchase to go to waste and
4) Well…..the body isn’t looking too horrendous these days so hopefully, people won’t point and laugh as I walk down the street. 
Well, mission completed, pairing the shorts with a rather prim blouse and waistcoat and some un-slutty shoes that still gave me a bit of height sorta worked! Hey – shorty is not so bad after all! No sticky legs problem on the tube either which is a bonus.
(Sorry about the dark pic – evidently, I had so much fun in my shorts, I forgot to take a pic of them in the morning – I suppose the darkness matches the mood of Saturday – England crashing out of the World Cup et all….)

The shoes are from LCX, a store in Hong Kong – they were on sale and I bought them for about £10 I think! Trust HK to come out with freaky, cheap shoes…
when are you comming to barcelona? and more importantly will you be blogging? i´m here now and don´t really know what to do and would love it if you posted from here so i can follow your travels because your antwerp posts were amazing!
I’ll be in Barcelona from the 15th to the 19th – just a long weekend break with some friends. Depends on the hotel and whether they have net facilities or not but I doubt I’ll be blogging… I’ll try!
I don’t think I’m gonna be shopping much either because London sales has dented my budget a bit!
