I love it when DIY projects get handed to be on a plate. Just by flicking through some old issues of Hong Kong and Japanese magazines, I have already got 3 ideas lined up just like that. Alas, I’m not one of those original geniuses who can just come up with creations all by themselves. But thank god, there’s always a million magazine cuttings to inspire me.

1) A belt made of pleated satin – I’m mad about pleats and this looks like a 15 minute easy peasy job.

2) A tangled up multi multi strand necklace – Can’t really figure out what this necklace is made of but I could use leather cording, electrical wires or something more delicate like thin wire chain.

3) A trimming adorned straw tote – Well, this one is just a walk in the park. You could use scraps of old trimmings and just go crazy on a plain straw tote. Add some fabric ruffles and you’re done.
ah…great ideas! don’t be surprised if a trimmings purse is the next project on my blog!
That belt is too perfect. I’ve saved it in my “sewing ideas” folder!
