Finding a Sig

When you’re at mid-week during this wet and grey weird summer transition weather that London is experiencing, well there is nothing to do but organise the mess.  Ok, that’s a lie.  I’m just using the weather as an excuse because I actually find it mildly relaxing folding up my tops.  I have now taken to organising my drawers by pattern because ludicrously, I need a whole drawer just for stripy tops. It’s not a secret desire to go yachting or anything. I just seem to have racked up a fair few stripy tops. Note, the drawer is about a metre and a half by half a metre big and I have rolled everything up into sausages (a surprising space saver trick!).  I never thought I had a ‘signature look’ until someone pointed out that I had a tendancy to layer stripy things in odd combinations

So hallelujah to that! I have a signature look!  If by chance, Fashion TV shoves a camera in my face and asks inane questions such as ‘What is your opinion on Kate Moss?’ and they then ask ‘What is your signature look?’, I’ll have my answer: ‘The stripe and the unexpectant.’

  1. I can’t wait to see you on fashion tv:))) I’m sure you’d be striped coolness:)

  2. Love this post cos it’s on the always fascinating topic of wardrobe organisation! (Similarly loved the post on how your sister organises her bling.) Would love to know how you organise the rest of your wardrobe, if you don’t mind sharing that. What kind of storage do you have? The cheapo Ikea stuff I’m using started to fall apart within a fortnight. Oh, to have a massive cedar wardrobe …!

  3. The roll-up idea is nice for having more place.. but it takes me to much time to roll everything.. =P
It’d be cool to see you on TV though,, next to Kate Moss.
I would really love a walk-in closet, my parents have one.. and it’s really cool.. 😀

  4. wow. i can’t believe i’ve never thought/heard of rolling up tops…i’ll definetly be using that.
    also-
at first i thought you spelled organize wrong, until i read the comment from emily. so i guess it’s spelled “organise” in the UK?
    interesting.

  5. I recently came to the conclusion that my answer would be “utilitarian wabi-sabi.” Of course, I think of things like that knowing that no one will ever ask.

  6. …everytime is the same routine for me:
I accumulate mess and mess and mess in my closet, and then whenever i buy something new i obsessive organize everything..and so on!..
but..good idea!!!never tought of rolling tops before!!!!;)
