After two days of G20 protesting in London, I thought it was rather timely seeing this positive start that illustrator Vanessa da Silva has made to her A/W 09 collection. She has based her small collection of embellished, embroidered tourist tees on the idea that us miserable Londoners are constantly moaning about everything from rising tube fares to missed mortgage payments. Da Silva instead just wants us to be happy that we're living in Laaaandon and heart it for what it is. I for one heartily agree and have resolved not to be a typical London moaner and whilst wearing one of these tees, smile about all the good things that the Big Smoke throws up - odd characters at Battersea Carboot Sale, Poseidon chippie, St John, the nooks and crannies in Hampstead Heath, the 19 bus, Quality Chop House, Alfie's… the list goes on and forever changes of course…
I Heart London

nice to know u girl…..
Oh wow, the tee on the left is pretty awesome.
I sort of wish it said something different. I do love London but I’d rather a London’s Burning tee shirt than a faux NYC transfer. I think the styling and design is great but am I being a tad demanding wishing for another slogan that is London’s own!
now.. why didn’t anyone think of that before! brilliant!!

I know you already did a shopping guide for London, but a ‘favourite places’ guide would also be very much appreciated 😉 I’m always looking for locals’ tips for city trips.
What’s not to love about ye Olde Blighty?
Vanessa is so cool! Love her illustration! She does stuff for Cibelle [Cavalli], who is equally cool!
I love London but unfortunately do not live there. So for everyone who does, these shirts seem like a fun way to celebrate being a Londoner while making the rest of us jealous!
these t-shirts are fantastic!!
how typically british to complain about things like that, people should stop and realise what an amazing city they are living in more, i cant wait to move there!
and these definately inspire a DIY attempt
