I've been accused of being a lot of things; colour-blind, overly fussy/complicated, a bit of a mess and the latest one which is just the absolute dainty cherry on the top "an ugly looser". Still, I will blindly go forth and say that even if I am all of those things, I can appreciate the simpler and more pared down looks and I know I don't have to be a "beautiful tighter" to appreciate that. Even better when simple is enhanced with a twist which is what Lotta Volkova has done with her S/S 09 collection. A LOTTA what Lotta has done (could. not. resist.) in this womenswear collection stems from her past as a menswear designer for her ex-label Lotta Skeletrix. The EVER-SO slightly dark mixed with clean lines and monochrome palette. It seems for womenswear she's pared it down even more, making a simple black tee more interesting with studs on a shoulder or lattice detailing. Or putting a harness over a white shirt that in itself is also made more striking with the added flare and volume. I would gladly wear it all, untouched, with a slick of dark lipstick and not much else because the styling below is actually pretty much spot on and sometimes it's ok to be sheep-like towards a designer's vision when you're lazy. Ugly loosers are still allowed some lippie afterall.
Lotta Love
They say the best revenge is success and to all the people who dub you an “ugly loser” are not understanding the simple fact that you’ve achieved quite alot for a mere 20 something years you’ve been on this earth.
I obviously love all the leather cage detailing in this collection.
PS. loved your outfit on JAK&JIL btw.
I love these clothes, soo beautiful! i would definitlely wear them with some dark lippy :)I adore the white blouse dress and the last photo.. great blog, keep up the good work! xoxo http://fashionforafashionista.blogspot.com/
Someone called you an ugly loser? How rude! Obviously he/she is just jealous, and was never taught, “If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” I think you’re unique, bold, and daring! 🙂
interesting job and cuts!really good find!
Hahaha, “beautiful tighter”, you’re brilliant Susie 😉 LOVE Lotta! Thanks for sharing yet another amazing designer, the harness with the white shirt (and shirtdress), and the ruffled black blouse are just incredible! As is everything else, gorgeous! 😉
xx
LOVING the last look! the silhouette is gorgeous 🙂
The haters are just jealous. Keep on working it, girl!
amazing amazing amazing collection, thank you for letting me discover it
who is that dickhead/bitch? We’ll beat him up for you Susie. Just give us a shout.
Love the harness, leather inserts and ruffles here.. all so dark!
xx-LJ from SOS!
i never quite understand why some people make such an effort to be negative and awful online. very pathetic and cowardly. anyways, you rock and the blogosphere is damn lucky to have you!
that last look is killer. totally goth le smoking.
fantastic looks. i love the one with the ruffled sleeves, and the dark lipstick is amazing.
xox.
The Voguette
Being faceless and anonymous behind a computer screen gives people the false sense of security they need to say hateful and jealous things. Also, it would appear that I am craving dark lipstick just as summer is around the corner… sigh…

I am anole woman who spent many years paying attention to those who said I was an ugly loser. I would have been much better off being fearless. Now that I am more fearless ( comfortable being myself) I can tell you that at some point in the future your vision will be regarded well beyond this blog. Continue on as you are
I love the triangle patterns!
I agree, “Lotta” has so many pun possibilities. But I wouldn’t want to undermine her amazing but simple designs. I would wear that ruffle-sleeve jumpsuit any day.
Ugly loser? I’m coming over, Susie. Just show me where they are and I’ll kick them in the shin.
You’re beautiful, in more ways than one. Don’t ever listen to “black hearted” people.
Hugs. xo
i look number 3! so chic
susie.
i LOVE your picture by danny.
you are SO beautiful.
xo
You are brilliant, and shows a lot of maturity and intelligence to respond with this wonderful post to all those who said those stupid things about you … they are nerds! This brand that you’ve named is beautiful, I ‘m absolutly in love with it, thanks for sharing
Gorgeous.
I LOVE YOUR BLOG! you’ve introduced to some amazing designers 🙂 and your style is amazing!
awesome idea, i love the clothes so much!
I adore the t-shirt and dress that seem to have leather(?)decoration.
I really, really love this collection. It’s so clean and also has that hard edge that makes me excited, such a good combination.
I want that harness, it has so many possibilities.
Don’t ever forget, that you are a BEAUTIFUL WINNER! 🙂
Black lipstick is hauntingly beautiful. It is so intriguing and strinking.
really is a winner for Lotta…the menswear was never that appealing…nor was it successful as it appeared in the interview, it was a far from successful line. This has a stronger position & there are still elements that guys can pick up. Like the leather encased tee which is mine!!!!
Playas are gonna play.. and haters are gonna hate…
You should put this song on your playlist:

Don’t let the haters get to you. Bunch of jealous bitches who wish they had the balls to do what you do. 😉
The ruffly coat-dress thing in the second to last picture is just amazing! And all the haters are just jealous, girl 🙂
Best thing is the cagey black tshirt, I could even wear that to the office.
Why do you even mention the haters on your blog, don’t give them the gratification of recognition… delete & ignore girl!
Great post, I love the harness over the white shirt…mmmm….
Hahaha, “ugly looser”? I tend not to listen to an insult that is spelt incorrectly, it tends to imply either a) stupidity or b) they cannot be bothered to type properly, in which case I do not bother about what they say.
xxx.
all i can say is you’re totally radical and fresh. im in love with your style cos it breathes with life. adding you t my list of fav style bloggers:)
I really like the proportions and the textures used add a lot to the pieces. for some reason I got a Bruno Pieters feeling on first glance but when I looked closely I couldn’t really place it, haha. 🙂
Lotta SKELETRIX was already a very succesful label for men, it was hysteria in Japan to get it…
but now with the womenswear on..it s gonna be mayhem…
