>> The boyf was banging on about a Radio 4 talk by David Attenborough on the subject of sloths (did you know there are TWO kinds of sloths?) and how it was ever so soothing. Perhaps I should then try to procure this knitted dress featuring a cross stitch impression of Sir David Attenborough, a UK national treasure. The dress was made by Grace Melville, a Kingston grad and it took four months to make, using 48 different coloured threads to stitch Sir David…the sames colours, which were then reflected elsewhere in the collection.
Inspired by ramblers in the countryside and British wildlife, hers was a collection of elevated outdoors/country wear… the sort that would sit well in a shoot where Vogue UK would force Lily Donaldson into their imagined surreal vision of 'rambling in the country'.
Grace is hoping that Sir David will be touched by her homage… I'm thinking there'll be a force of people contacting her to try and wear their devotion to the great man on their chests…
Hahahahaha!

The man is nothing less than a god, those sweaters would be flying off the shelves, I’d buy one.
“did you know there are TWO kinds of sloths?”
Three-toed and two-toed! I did a project on sloths in year two, making me a recognised world expert on the subject.
Ok I wasn’t sure who he was before (I’m from Canada), but I know now! Grace has performed a public service.

David Attenborough’s ten minute show on Radio 4 was most educational and soothing, he descirbed sloths as upside down goats who were practically blind and death but had a keen sense of smell. I would happily sport a David Attenborough adorned sweatshirt..he is the Grandad we all wish we had.
I can’t believe it looks so much like him! Very impressive. My boyfriend works at Clare College (Cambridge University) as a waiter and he once served him – a highlight I think.
Oh! I want (need) this! David Attenborough DVD’s get me through sick-days, I often watch the entire serieses. I want him to be my Grandad, when I was seven my dad met him but I was to young to be in absolute awe 🙁

OMG I LOVE HIM. The Blue Planet has to be one of the best documentary series ever created. The deep sea one always BLOWS MY MIND. If Melville finds some way to mass produce these I would possibly sell my bed in order to buy one.
i need that sweater!!

Attenborough was the speaker at my friend’s bf’s graduation at Exeter Uni. Bit cool like! The workmanship that has gone into that dress is incredible.
Oh, that’s rather strange-looking and awesome. It kind of looks like his face is pixelated and photoshopped onto the photo..
Aaaah love it! I also love this website it has some pretty cool stuff!

enjoy! xx
Oh my! I’ve been meaning to meake an ‘I heart David Attenborough’ tee for ages…this puts my plan to shame a bit!
Serious skill! If you squint it actually looks like his head is coming out of her belly! :o)
That is surreal and hilarious!! Personally I would love a stitched representation of Charlie Brooker on a dress so if anyone has the skills to do so, let me know : )
David Attenborough has the most soothing voice I have ever heard. The Planet Earth series wouldn’t be the same without him!
Ha, ha, ha! That’s amazing. I’m still bitter we in the US get Planet Earth narrated by Sigourney Weaver, as much as I love her, instead.
It is one of my aims in life to volunteer at a sloth sanctuary in Costa Rica 🙂 xx
very impressive! It really looks like him! hahaha
