I’m a sucker for discussions on national dress styles so when I came across this article on the UK Times declaring that American style still had the edge over British style, my interest was perked. I don’t want to ramble on and on about it because I do think it’s best to see merits to how both countries dress so I’ll just leave you with this national style summary:
American services to style
The perfect caramel blonde; minimalism; Paris Hilton; the $10 manicure;
Marc Jacobs; Cindy Crawford; flawless tawny skin, all year roundBritish services to style
Overly dyed hair; Boho; Jordan; Topshop; Alexander McQueen; Kate Moss; skin that would be flawless if not for the bruises we acquire when drunk
no music please.
since when does Paris Hilton have an edge over Kate Moss?
I think the article highlights the fact that it is a very close race indeed but somehow the writer thinks Americans have the ‘edge’.
hey there i began reading your blog recently and i’ve loved it since. i appreciate that you never fail to have some fashion-related news to blog about every single day.
And by the way i love your music taste because it’s not what i normally listen to but surprisingly i truly enjoy it! so don’t ever take down the music player!
paris hilton is no good for us! take her, uk!
hmmmm. as a completly unbiased outside opinion, I think the British have it. Americans are so perfect that it just looks fake…..whereas British have a little more normality, individuality and passion.
Ugh, American style is sooo boring, when it exists! The UK is definitely much more fun and exciting.
looks good
