This is not just poofy hair, this is not just hair with volume and oomph. This is billowing, gorgeously wispy, Victoriana hair that is delicate and haunting. I want to perch a little hat with a veil on top of hair like this. I want to wear over the top avant garde clothes with hair like this. For once, my pale pallor would not look out of place with hair like this. But goddamnit, my hair is all wrong for this – it being straight, thick with a blunt fringe. For me to achieve such a hairstyle, it would have to involve, those hair bun doughnut rings, some rags for stuffing (yes, I’m reverting to 18th century hair techniques), lots of talcum powder or Bumble and Bumble hair powder and some serious backcombing. But if all the work resulted in something half as nice as this, it would all be worth it.

I saw an old lady in the supermarket the other week with a bun styled exactly like that , a large black coat with gorgeous detailing and (I’m against fur) but a real fox stole around her shoulders. I honestly thought she was Victorian !
Lovely! Totally fits into my ‘Grandma Duck’ style idea…
