Capers of the Past

Capes are one of those trends that have been knocking about in some shape or form for past two A/W seasons and sure girls from London jumped on the cape train last year by wearing a black wool cape (an item that EVERY high street store produced last winter) with jeans and Uggs but it never went completely mainstream.  Me thinks this year, it will somehow blow up into big proportions when every store comes out with capes in all shapes, fabrics and lengths.  I never got on board the cape train last year even though I was forever searching for the perfect Sherlock Holmes style wool cape.  These photos have made me seen the light and I will now gladly board that train.  The nochalence of Marianne Faithfull and her cape makes me want to ferret around some more and find that perfect vintage cape.  From Vogue Italia July:

  1. Oooh I want a cape! I have been looking for one as well, although I am thinking of going for a shorter hip-lenth one, perhaps plaid.

  2. Susie, I feel the exact same. I sat out the cape look for a while, but now I’m ready to dive in. I already bought a little cropped one, now I need a long luxurious one.
